i thought gaming on th itouch was silly - i mean, there's no buttons! but after getting an itouch, i can say that i game on it much more often than i game on my DSlite. its more portable (fits in pockets) and the games are addicting. it also just does so much more than the DS.

i think that apple is a serious contender for nintendo. i don't think the games library holds up well against nintendos, but i can see people being satisfied with the itouch

As of late, Nintendo and Apple have a very similar path it seems.

DS and Wii have done with video game consoles what apple has been doing with computers and electronics for the last 10 years. Made them idiot proof and approachable for people not as hardcore involved in to technology...and made them the cool "it product" of the industry.

Also Nintendo are slowly moving towards the Apple motto of "If its 12 months old its outdated"...as we have seen 4 different DS versions in 5 years.

Perhaps its best if those 2 start canibalizing each others marketshare...Come on nintendo, give us a phone function to 3DS!

As a 360 fan... its pretty obvious.

MS hasn't made big efforts to get into the casual marketing until now. That's the market Apple and Nintendo cater too.
