You said it twice.

And now what Nintendo can do? Price cut? Redesign? Wii HD 2.0?

Maybe Nintendo does nothing.

Price cut to $150, include Remote Plus, maybe substitute Sports Resort for Sports although since Sports isn't sold separately in most markets, I really don't think it even matters whether they continue to give it away. Maybe drop Sports Resort as a part of the bundle instead.

Unless a redesign saves Nintendo a significant amount on manufacturing costs (seems unlikely as it started as a reduced cost hardware package) I don't see any reason for a product refresh; just limited edition bundles and colors.

Also at this stage in the generation, any significant hardware upgrades (Wii 1.5 HD) would be well enough to just roll into the Wii's successor in 2012. It seems doubtful that consumer demand for a more expensive Wii SKU is worth developing.

A $150 Wii should be a decent draw to keep numbers afloat, but anything else is unlikely to yield significant YoY increases.

2011 will see Nintendo focus on the 3DS regardless.

@Demotruk

Yeah! The Dance 2 ads have been on quite a bit, at least on the digital freeview channels.

There's a TV that's usually on in my office during the day, that's how I know. I really don't watch much TV otherwise.

Wow look at at Ensalved on the american software sale!!!Yeah i no what you think you cant see it!!!Really bad sales for Enslaved it didn't even make it to the list:( And what week is it on?3rd week?Ninja theory should have just maked it a ps3 exklusive and it's would probably sold more.

360...wins again.

its just how it is now.

black friday will be very interesting.

Well move launchs in Japan with next weeks numbers, so unless adjustments happen I expect PS3 to win next week and possibly week after.

so do I

but its temporary...... KInect.....

but its temporary.......GT5......

you think GT5 will move more consoles than Kinect?  ok...

At launch it's quite probable.

wasnt talking launch...

Well, you were speaking about weekly numbers.

yeah i was...  but not just one week or two weeks... Im also talking 6, 7, 8, 10, 14 weeks.

if they both launch in the holiday period it will be difficult to judge the bump though.

what type of boost do you expect from kinect? Be specific

I think the only real option is the pricecut you suggested, maybe with the plus thrown in.

This can become a gamecube situation from this point going forward, cheap as chips but not many really interested.

Wii's unique motion control system was it's big selling point. This has been hijacked by the other two who have now moved away from the original  gamepad only systems.

If Sony or MS didn't release Move (and soon Kinect) I am sure wii will still be king on the weekly charts.

I hope I am wrong for wii's sake but I don't see much hope of a recovery regarding hardware sales even with future big releases.

Again I think you also correctly pointed out the main focus will soon shift to the 3DS which I am sure will be a monster success, keeping the shareholders happy...or happy-ish.

didn't expect it to be a big seller but this is really underwhelming. I wonder if Capcom is second guessing now their decision to hand Devil May Cry reboot to Ninja Theory. They make decent games but their games don't have mass market appeals either in Japan or in the west. Yet Capcom expects the reboot to sell more than 5 million units?

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Nice numbers....me likey

Wii is the only console up WoW, so I don't think Just Dance 2 did nothing. Right now, it's nothing significant, but Just Dance 2 should be a long seller and it's influence on hardware should be similar. Though I am disappointed with it's start.

BTW, has anyone seen Just Dance 2 UK ads on TV yet? Ads may have started on the 15th in the US (that's when it went up on the Youtube channel at least), but I've not seen signs of them in UK yet.

Well Wii sales have been flat lately, of course it's going to see fluctuations, it's difficult to tell how PS3 and 360 are really performing in terms of weekly gains given they've had a turbulent few weeks.
