I would disagree that there isn't any point in arugeing with someone who won't change their mind.

I know that many times I've seen arguements between two people and it's changed my mind simply because one side had a large amount of logic and numbers and facts while the other side had almost none.

In between two argueing forces, I like to think there are a number more of reasonable people who's minds may be changed by the facts.

Of cousrse, once you hit 10 pages then it's probably time to take a step back, but still.

God I hate such arguments. Almost all the time, rather than a reasonable discussion, it just becomes an argument of who can spin the other's words the most.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

not argueing with unreasonable people simply makes unreasonable arguements sound reasonable.

True, but it's somewhat in the eye of the beholder for me. For me, someone who won't change their mind is really, really far out, and thankfully they are a rarity. So while your point stands for these people as well, I don't think we agreed on when a person won't change be changing their minds.

Oh, no.  I agree that even people who would change their minds may not... even people where both sides of the arugement are fairly reasonable (like abortion) but I still think the arguements are worth having for the lurkers.

I know one thing I LOVE to read when i'm bored is two people argueing over which superhero would win in a fight or if Star Wars could be Star Trek in a fight etc, etc.

I've NEVER seen one side change their mind... but i learn a lot, often about characters I don't know, or stuff I didn't know about in different universes... and often have my mind changed.

For example, just recently, I realized how much of a badass Akuma from street fighter was.  Always thought he was just a regular suped up martial artist... but then I saw clips from the Alpha games where he kicks a ship from the bottom of the ocean out of it, and another where he launches himself into space and smashes a meteorite as if he was freakin Superman.

I own the Alpha games too, just never beat em with Akuma i guess, or just forgot.

I actually forgot about those, I was talking purely about talking to people who act like brick walls. Arguments like the ones you describe are fine.
