True, but it's somewhat in the eye of the beholder for me. For me, someone who won't change their mind is really, really far out, and thankfully they are a rarity. So while your point stands for these people as well, I don't think we agreed on when a person won't change be changing their minds. |
Oh, no. I agree that even people who would change their minds may not... even people where both sides of the arugement are fairly reasonable (like abortion) but I still think the arguements are worth having for the lurkers.
I know one thing I LOVE to read when i'm bored is two people argueing over which superhero would win in a fight or if Star Wars could be Star Trek in a fight etc, etc.
I've NEVER seen one side change their mind... but i learn a lot, often about characters I don't know, or stuff I didn't know about in different universes... and often have my mind changed.
For example, just recently, I realized how much of a badass Akuma from street fighter was. Always thought he was just a regular suped up martial artist... but then I saw clips from the Alpha games where he kicks a ship from the bottom of the ocean out of it, and another where he launches himself into space and smashes a meteorite as if he was freakin Superman.
I own the Alpha games too, just never beat em with Akuma i guess, or just forgot.
