Without brazzers?  Probably go to spankwire, tube8, porntube, moviefap, youporn.........not that I know anything about that sort of thing!!  But if one wanted to browse such sites without their girlfriend seeing their browsing history well, I guess a PS3 would be a viable option.

Easier to navigate user interface

Brighter and pretty experience (you always feel like a part of the community)

Bigger library of games (the 360 has been out since 05 and has plenty of games to show for it)

Xbox live is unparalleled quality (you pay for what you get)

Free games and content

The Xbox Live Party System (One of the greatest things about the Xbox 360. You and 7 friends can all join up together, play games together or everyone can play separate games yet still be able to talk to each other and interact. You don't know how fun this is until you try it.)

Deal of the Week (gives you discounts on games and add-ons every week, obviously)

You can log in multiple accounts (gamertags) on the 360 and everyone can earn achievements (did you know the ps3 has that ability in like 3 games, and only player one can earn trophies)

Really streamlined and easy to use Facebook, Twitter, Last FM, Netflix

Cross-Game chat. (Being able to talk to a friend no matter what game or what program your friend is using)

Really fast updates to games and the system (it can take upwards of over 15-20 minutes to update and install patches and such on PSN, don't believe me? Go download the game  Pain. It took literally over and hour to download the updates on that single game.)

On the 360 a patch or update never takes more than 10 seconds (I know this for a fact as I have Peggle for both systems and recently had to update them both. Xbox 360 = 7 seconds. PS3 = 8 minutes. I kid you not ladies and gentlemen.)

Etc, etc, etc, gosh I could go on and on...

Cross game chat and how well/easily everything works (user friendliness).

Once PS3 gets cross-game chat that will really limit what XBL users can brag about.

The main reason:  It keeps Microsoft in business and stops them from bleeding money.  Plus, it was a charged service since the early 2000's so they just kept the same price.  Sony and Nintendo came and offered it for free but that's because they didn't think like the Joker from the last Batman movie (If you're good at something, never do it for free--Microsoft is good at killing Batman).  But you want a list so here you go:

  • Cross game chat: Talk to anybody no matter what they're playing
  • Advanced Netflix:  Watch a movie with your friend at the same time.  Their avatar will be sitting with yours (similar to the theater in Playstation home except without the sucking).
  • Better Matchmaking based on skill levels (True Skill)
  • Dedicated Community Events:  For example, Gaming With Fame, Ladies Night, Family Night, and dedicated game nights (Like Gears of War 2 All Night Long).
  • Demos for every single solitary Arcade game (not just random ones like on the PS3).
  • Tons and tons more content for downloading including exclusive FREE programs like "The Guild".
  • Music Videos - VidZone - music videos free service on PSN
  • Dedicated Twitter App
  • Dedicated Facebook App
  • Dedicated Last FM App (I can't get it to work on the PS3--can you?)
  • IGN Strategy and help videos streaming instantly in the main menu
  • The ability to re-download purchased content like TV Shows (Did you know that if you delete a purchased movie/TV show from your PS3 without copying it to another HDD, YOU LOSE IT FOREVER?--I found this out earlier this year.  I'll never see my beloved Black Dynamite again!)
  • ESPN and Hulu Plus (coming soon--but I believe Hulu Plus is also going to be on the PS3) Hulu Plus is on PSN at moment, just for Plus users
  • "Inside Xbox" streaming video that tells little known facts and answers questions about the console.
  • The ability to chat with game developers of certain games.
  • Free chocolat milk dispenser. Got me! Deal breaker
  • Disc Free Netflix (coming soon to PS3)/ LoveFilm Mubi coming to PSN
PSN also has BBC iPlayer, ITV Player coming soon (UK), and many other Catch-up services around the SCEE territories

Okay, that last one about the chocolate milk was made up and I admit some of these are free to Silver members too.  But I believe (but can't prove) that if the Gold guys weren't paying for it, Silver would suck a lot more.  Plus there's the discounts, deals, fully downloadable retail games, and other things I don't think are worth mentioning.  So there.  Hope I answered your question.  I wasn't kidding when I made the first post in this thread.

I completely agree that Xbox Live is better than the PSN, but I don't think its worth $50-$60.

I think the bigger question is, if online gaming on Xbox Live was free, would people pay for the other perks?

Some of those features (if not all of them) aren't available in the US, though (where I live).  I admit I wasn't aware of many of them.

Does it matter?

The 360 has the biggest online games of any console. That's the main reason charging has been a success.

Most of the people on here that keep stressing the free aspect of PSN will probably never understand the value of Live because they just see it as paying for online.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Absolutely! Online gaming is free on PSN, yet people pay for Playstation Plus, how much more so would people pay for the other features of XBL . It's already a much better experience.

In my opinion I don't think anyone pays solely to play XBL games online. Even if they aren't consciously aware of all the other features, they're benefiting from them. Take for example Cross Game Chat, or the Deal(s) of the Week. Let's go a step further and think of Multiple gamertags being signed into the same Xbox, and with each person being able to share the XBL experience...that means their individual friends, acheivements, messages, in game online profile, etc .

If someone has not tried XBL, then it'll be easy for them to judge the ones that pay for the service, however i believe that any reasonable, and logical person that experience both online services (XBL vs. PSN) will no doubt give the edge to XBL, and their money to Microsoft.

I pay for xbox live every year and i do admit that xbox live is better than PSN. But come one $50 for cross game chat? That is really the only thing that benefits gaming for xbox live. Most xbox 360 games don't even have dedicated servers.Mostly all ps3 exclusives do have dedicated servers. People keep saying that xbox live provides you with so mnay features. But how many of those features benefits gameing? I can only think of one and it is not worth $50.

How many of you actually use twitter, facebook, and last.fm on your xbox 360?

Edit: Party Chat could be a good or bad thing. Its fine when you use party chat when everyone is in a different game but most people nowadays use party hat when they are in the same game. Befer NXE I remeber xbox live use to be loud, fun, etc. It has gotten a lot quiter over the years. Some games such as MW2 do not allow you to have party chat in matchmaking.
