Yeah yeah, call me crazy.

I've been tracking X360 UK sales for some time now, before the slim launched. As far back as mid 09 360 has shown strength in the region.

Xmas 2009. Despite the Wii getting a price cut here, and the 360 base price rising £30 the sales for Q4 finished at 600k Vs. 870k to Wii. Had both consoles prices remained the same, the sales would have been VERY close. X360 price didn't rise anywhere else WW, and even if Wii didn't get a price cut last Xmas, it would have still trounced the X360 everywhere else. So what makes the UK so special for X360 sales?

Despite it's price cut last Xmas, Wii has been down every Q, and is currently down over 350k, whilst despite no price cut, but thanks to slim, X360 is up over 200k. It seems to me the UK is more receptive to what the 360 has to offer in terms of games, price cuts and such.

Current lifetime sales sit at

Wii - 7.1
X360 - 5.35

Difference 1.75

It's a big hurdle, and it'll only happen if Kinect is a hit. UK, despite the price, seems to be giving positive feedback regarding Kinect.

This could turn out totally wrong, in which case I'm happy to eat crow, I'd prefer humble pie though ..

I think its a good prediction.

360 still has excellent 3rd party support, including great support for Kinect.

Even if Kinect isn't really a huge hit, I could still see this happening. Simply because I see the 360 being on the market for much longer than the Wii...

If this generation has taught me anything, is that anything is possible, but do remember wii will still be selling.
