Yes but if they release MH4 for PS3 in 2012 they can make portable for 3DS in 2013 by that time PSP will be long dead.

I don't think we will see MH4 on PS3 (MH Frii maybe)

The two most recent of the Monster Hunter's Sold More on PSP (besides the first one) than DQIX has in the west... granted its IX is still selling, and May or may not outsell it them.

But I doubt the newer Monster Hunter's would sell better than the old ones, in the west beings the state the psp's in. But maybe it increase in japan again >_>,

Monster Hunter Freedom 2 .67 million in west
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite .76 million in west

Dragon Quest IX .59 million
The Remakes sold way less, but that isn't really a fair comparison.

Uh, those VGC sales are WAY higher than Capcom's stated shipments for the west...  

MHF: 130k NA, 100k EU (through March 2007)

MHF2: 110k NA, 150k EU (through March 2008)

MHFU: 200k NA, 250k EU (through March 2010) *they expected 900k for overseas in that period

Overtrackaton!

 

And for those wondering, Capcom expects MHP3rd to sell 3.6m units this fiscal year in Japan.
