First try ejecting from the dashboard, also it may be jammed.

Try this

Get a paperclip or something like it.  Remove the face plate.  Directly under the middle of the disc tray are two little holes.  Stick the paperclip into that hole to press the release button.

Now, I mentioned that there were two holes.  One of them will release the disc tray.  The other will kill a puppy.  I can't remember which does which.  Oh well, good luck!!

*edit* this will work, even if your 360 is turned off and unplugged.  It's an actual failsafe built into the 360's design.  I'm almost postive it's the first hole that you stick the paperclip in, btw.  Wouldn't want any puppies to die because of me.

I'll just say that what d21lewis said is correct. I have used that technique when getting disks out of different 360's that have broken and I have taken apart.

Since the laser in my original drive got broken I built in the drive of my brother's old RROD 360.

However that drive isn't perfect either .If there is no disc in it, it won't open and you need all your strenght to get it out. However if there's a disc in it, you can just press the eject button and slightly pull the tray out.

I removed the faceplate so that it's easier to pull it out. If you encounter this problem more often, just make sure to never close the tray without a disc in it.

Take the drive apart and clean the tracks, you'll not have the issue again.
