well atleast it wasn't that much higher,Final Fantasy XIV looks like it'll be the lowest rated numbered ff at this rate

I tried getting into WoW twice, but I find nothing wow about it. Quest are too repetitive for my liking without a deep storyline.

WoW's story is very dependent on whether or not you played WarCraft, II, and III. If not, then it's just another MMORPG.

Not just numbered, probably lowest rated period.

I called completely failure of this game from the moment it was announced at E3. MMORPGs are just crap games these days and hardly original in any way. The genre last pull was with WoW and it survives but their success will never repeat again with any other MMORPG.

I don't really believe that.  MMO's can still be strong it's just so many of them fail because they try to directly compete with WoW when that is a giant mistake.  MMO's other problems is that the developers think they can release broken games when people have showed time and time again they only have so much patience.

I think there is much room for improvement with MMOs as well, and I think it's great what FFXIV have done in terms of trying new things, like with the classes, but it's a shame that it's been released in its current state.

If you want an MMO that is really looking to bring the genre forward, I suggest looking at Guild Wars 2, because there you have a game that truly does new things with the genre, and I think people are craving something like that. It's not going to be as successful as WoW (mainly because it doesn't have a subscription fee, and thus will never generate as much revenue), but the dynamic world that players can influence, the true cooperative play and the personal storyline are just a few of the things that set it apart.

Hmm, so the no-name reviews are giving it high scores and reviewing it on potential to generate traffic and the big sites are the ones shitting all over it and giving it the real reviews?  Completely backwards!

LOL isn't it usually the other way round?

WOW? people actually think you should base a review on an MMO or judge an MMO on story? That sounds like part of a niche console gamer perspective. You don't judge MMO based on Story. It's all about the game play. If the game play fails then the game should get rated alow. From what i'm hearing FF14 is missing the core gameplay element.

I think it's clear whom this game is for. Extracting a monthly fee from SE FF Fans not for creating an MMO community.
