Forums - General - The ugly and really obvious truth about pretty people?

I was going to say something, but I really don't know what to say...

Be confident I guess.......

There are plenty of average or ugly looking people that have succeeded in life (money, family, etc).  I don't buy your observations nor will I look at that article.  Bill Gates and a bunch of other tech savvy people are highly successful and they quite frankly look like dorks (because they are).  You just have to exceed in the areas that you are good at.  Most famous actors/actresses that are beautiful are depressed and feel lonely.  Looks aren't everything it is mainly about your mind set.  Put your mind in a better place and you will have more happiness than the richest and most beautiful people in the world.

let's me tell you the one expection to an ugly not getting a pretty-----MONEY!!!!!!! If your lucky enough to make a bunch of money, you can always get whatever you want/including women. That's the one and I mean one and only advantage that an ugly would have. It's not about your mindset, reality is reality no matter how you spin it. lol

I see your points.  I believe having a good personality and mindset does do a lot for a person.  I know plenty of fat / ugly people that are having a better life than me.  It isn't because they have more money or anything like that either.  I am sure you can do things to improve your looks.  Do you work out?  Do you eat healthy?  Just don't get caught up in the trend bullshit (wear what you want to wear but least wear something semi decent).  Should be more concered on looking the best you can not looking better than other people or as good.

i feel the same way about the lucky guys born with 7.5 inches plus ,

why couldn't it have been me

life sucks we have to deal with it i guess

Beauty is over rated.

By you.

The most impressive thing you can see is a very pretty person with the most humble attitude and very open to talk to anybody regarding of looks.

One of my best friends is just like that. Nobody hates her...

Well I can say that a lot of ugly girls were often popular and mean in my schools. I wasn't because I was shy, didn't have as much confidance and I wasn't a bitchy loudmouth. Not saying I'm super pretty btw, but I think those girls were quite ugly. Being a geek didn't help much (although I kept that side of myself quite secret).

I don't think that being good looking is always an advantage. I think it depends on your confidance, how you act and make people perceive yourself.

Hmmm, this is a very, very interesting thread. firstly i think that you've made a very good point, attractive people seem to have life a lot easier the unattractive. although people here have made comments about how you can succeed in life no matter how you look etc. yes i find this is true, but tbh the world does seem to revolve around attractive people.

i've also heard that 80% of how you percieve someone is based on how you see them for the first time - i think this is a psycology thing, so imo there is some truth to what your saying, but perhaps now because the human race is 'enlightened' then attractiveness is semi-important, which i think could be true.

although i think your link is just a crude web article (no offense), there are probabily tomes of psycology studies about this, you should look into those for a deeper insight into this field. but beauty is not just in the eye of the beholder - scientists know there is a mathematical ratio present in nature that governs the shape of our face. so theres so much we know know about the relation beauty has on people, perhaps influencing working positions, like you article discussed etc.

which is why beauty is cleary VERY important, because there is a multi-billion industry focused on manufactured beauty. imo if you are unhappy with the way you look, then you could think about plastic surgery; millions of people do it every year.

*gasp*

Don't mention being a shy, hot, geeky girl on a video game forum! That doesn't bode well!

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

OMG.. pretty? By what standards? I often consider a girl pretty while my friend considers her ugly and the other way around. Its one subjective thing.

Still why do you consider yourself ugly? That is a pretty negative statement towards yourself :| ( and if you are truly horrible, pls dont post a pic to prove it ).
