Eh, nearly 50% and 70% more aren't really on the same order of magnitude.  I mean they would be if you are using a million as an order of magnitude, but that's just silly.  Plus we're talking about First week sales in Europe.  Even if we were talking lifetime, the PS3 version nearly doubled the Wii Fifa 08 in Europe.

And the Wii's install base was double the PS3's when it launched in Europe.  It's pretty clear PS2 Fifa fans were going to the PS360 from the very beginning.

If we are going to be so literal as to use a factor of 10 as an order of magnitude for video game sales, then the Wii version still wasn't on the same order of magnitude back when Fifa 08 was relevant because it didn't hit one million till this year.

Guess you could make a case that for weeks 3-16 (and probably some time after that, but the new vgchartz sucks for looking things up) the weekly sales were on the same order of magnitude, but once again it is a worthless metric for video game sales.  The numbers are never big or small enough for it to be useful.

You were answering someone who asked why Fifa 11 Wii wasn't selling like the HD systems.  That was obviously about the first week because that is the only data we have.  My point was Fifa Wii never sold like the HD systems (especially first week), even three years ago.

Korea didn't get Wii Sports, just like Japan.  I'm not sure what the situation is now with the Sports/Resort bundles.  Japan didn't get those either, so it might be the same.
