Forums - Nintendo - The Last Story - Demo impressions from Nintendo Conference

Sounds excellent. I haven't had time for any JRPGS this gen but once I'm done undergrad I'll be sure to get into Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, Resonance of Fate and this.

Keep the info coming!

intriguing

The combat sounds intriguing, although I wonder how normal attacking will work if you are surrounded by multiple enemies. Directional combat has great potential but I still can't remeber a game that pulled it off smoothly.

Depends on if its truly real-time combat, or psuedo-real-time a la Tales (where movement and attacks seemed to move in step that gave it an air of turned-based-ness. Final Fantasies XI and XII did something similar)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

sounds awesome, can't wait for the European release!

Yeah, WoW and FFXII are, but Tales is 'actual' real time.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

I haven't played any of the others, but there was a lag on my actions in Symphonia even as the more Melee-oriented characters. Though the command input is realtime and the output is sorta realtime, it feels more stop-and-go than it should, moreso than, say, a proper Adventure or Hack n' Slash game.

Wasn't like that for me. I dunno..
