IMO Xenoblade did pretty well in Japan, and it has a shot at doing decent numbers in the west to. I doubt that anyone was expecting million sales for this one

Monster Hunter Tri is the best-selling home-console MH ever, the issues is, that it cant compete with the PSP versions, and I doubt that Capcom is 100% happy with the sales of this game, because even now, its still not the best selling MH in western territories, and they hoped that more casual games will jump on the MH craze.

RS2: bomb, no question about this one. Sorry, but the crappy launch title sold over a million, and this one, that was acclaimed by critics, wont even manage half that amount. I know that Ubi never went to far to advertise this one, but never the less, its a failure.

MoM: Nintendo wanted this one to sell ~2.5 million. It will never happen. So yeah, it didnt tank, but it wont live up to the expectations...

Boom Blox probably made a nice profit, and I doubt that EA expected far more. Now the sequel... thats a whole different tale.

Source please, for entertainment purposes?

I was expecting million seller for Xenoblade...

Also, yes, I'd like to see your source for the Other M thingy.

As for Red Steel 2...just remember the original was a launch title...

yes a launch game with maybe half the budget compared to the 2nd one and 3 times more sales at the end of the day.

Even with lowered expectations (weren't the original expectations 1m ?) Red Steel 2 sales are certainly not good at all.

Xenoblade - good, but by not means great sales

MH3 - Easily a success, even without counting subscription fees

RS2 - Very disappointing, expecting at least half again.

Other M - a bomb here in Europe, but not too bad elsewhere

Boom Blox -  Wow...  I guessed it had 600k max sales

Why in the world did you talk about the first boom blox?? The awesome sequel would have been a more interesting conversation and analysis.

Yes, they were. What I mean is that when the first was released (and released a lot longer ago) there was less choice for people to choode from. It was the only shooter, which promised something new, hence it sold more than the second. People were probably also burned by the poor quality of the original, so skipped the second.

The first boom blox has been out for longer, had a bigger impact and also doesn't suffer from sequel syndrome. Also, the figures amazed me with the first, not so with the second.

Red Steel 2 is a failure. The more it sells the bigger a failure it becomes. It is a failure because it selling tells developers that gamers do not want incredibly fun, innovative multiplayer experiences

:(

I...actually enjoyed it. Am I a bad person?

I'm not saying it's a bad, or unenjoyable game, it's just that I preferred Red Steel 1, despite its flaws, because of the incredibly well done multiplayer.

Damn if you do. Damn if you don't.

Hmm...I played the original and it was buggy. I couldn't get past the casino area because it would just crash when I left...

So I have bad experience with the original.

The second one, I thought was very well handled, very mature and shows what the Wii can do. It is for that reason and that reason alone why I like it. It shows what the Wii can do.

And boy, can it do a lot.

I agree multiplayer SHOULD have been added, but what are you gonna do? The game was fun, IMO, that's the most important thing to me :)
