There are some pretty key games on that exclusive list. Mario and Sonic, Boogie, Kirby, Nights... All of those games could be pretty significant sellers... Depends on hype, reviews, timing of release... If they go off without a hitch, they're all minor hits. One of them, Mario and Sonic, could be a multi-million seller... Nintendo regularly puts those types of games into 2 million territory... Mario Tennis, Mario Party...

GTA4 is huge, and will be cross platform for all 3. Look at the success of the godfather on wii, GTA4 on wii is a no brainer. Sure it will look prettier on the other consoles, but pretty isnt a deciding factor.

 MGS is NOT a AAA title in Japan, and is mainly a seller in the USA. 800K for MGS3 is nothing.

 FF is not he premiere JRPG franchise, granted, the FF franchise will sell consoles in USA, but it is dragon quest that gets the numbers in japan, with DQ9 announced for DS (it will sell 5m easy) and Square Enix about to announce DQ10 for the Wii, FF13 for PS3 suddenly seems less relevant.

For the record, DQ8 sold 2,267,827 copies in its first WEEK, FF12 sold 2,328,910 to DATE. Thats a HUGE discrepancy.

RE5 again, RE is not a AAA franchise, selling only 450k copies of 4 in japan, not a good sign, RE5 isnt going to be a HUGE seller.

 


You do know that GTA4 is only for PS3 and 360 right? It will be out in october for those systems only. GTA4 is not for the Wii nor will it be. Nintendo wants it, but rockstar has not granted that request.

Make that 6 million. PS3 has what, half that? 


 

Your point? FFXIII has been announced as a PS3 only title. Thats all that matters.

Did somebody back there diss Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles?  That game was pretty fun...and I think a new Wii game has great potential.

I did! It sucked balls. Big hairy juicy blue monkey ones. I have played the majority of FF games and that was the WORST! And again, No, FFXIII is not coming to the Wii, that system doesn't have the power to play it. FFCC2 is more likely and if and thats a BIG IF FFXIII does go to another system it will be the 360 as that is the only one that can play it. Square will NOT degrade a game they have so much money on to put it on the Wii...I don't see Square degrading the graphics, altering the controls and dumping most of the content so they can put it on the Wii. It's a Sony only title and GTA4 is PS360 only.

You do know that GTA4 is only for PS3 and 360 right? It will be out in october for those systems only. GTA4 is not for the Wii nor will it be. Nintendo wants it, but rockstar has not granted that request.


 GTA4 WILL be on the Wii, count on it.

All of the GTA4 sequels (IE San Andreas/Vice City) will be on WII

DQ10 will be a Wii exclusive

FF wll shift its focus to the Wii, and will sell HALF the software DQ9 for the DS will sell

MGS will not be a million seller in Japan

RE5 will not be a million seller in Japan

 Your AAA titles, are not going to be a boon to the PS3

 GTA4 is not a "no-brainer" on the Wii.  Why completely downgrade/remake a game?  If anything I hope the Wii gets its own GTA.

Although I'm not worried too much about Japan considering the 360 is the main competition (because I think the Wii is going to flourish no matter what at this point), any exclusive the PS3 has that sells close to a million will help. 

Just looking at Japan, Final Fantasy games have sold 34 million and Dragon Quest games 31 million.  Just looking at the last 8 RPGS (since dragon quest has 8 main ones), Final Fantasy is only down a few million (about 23.4 to 25).  Final Fantasy is very important in Japan, even if it's not quite as important as Dragon Quest (the totals that the FF franchise has includes more games).

Just looking at the last 8 RPGS (since dragon quest has 8 main ones), Final Fantasy is only down a few million (about 23.4 to 25). Final Fantasy is very important in Japan, even if it's not quite as important as Dragon Quest (the totals that the FF franchise has includes more games).

 

FF is a stellar franchise in Japan, but not the calibre of DQ. Both wll do well, and FF13 will sell PS3's but not as many Wii's as DQ10 will sell

Ugh.  "Not as many" is like 4 million compared to 3.5 million.  Come on.
