It's sad that we do this shit to each other.

They'll have to live with pushing to suicide for the rest of their lives. I heard about this story on the way to work this morning. It's a shame.

3-5 years is a bit harsh for the penalty. Sure they were douchebags for what they did but it wasn't their idea for him to kill himself.

Maybe a year at most.

And honestly I have no empathy for people who kill themselves. He had a great life going (a good violinist and lots of friends) and he kills himself over a video? Get over it. Move to another school or something don't kill yourself. He took the cowards way out like a bitch.

I don't think it's only about a video. You have to look at the big picture. It's probably been this way his whole life.

But yeah that penalty is severe even if both are douchebags.

I don't agree with suicide either but when something broadcast on the internet. There is no moving to another school. Dude was nice enough the ask his roomate if he was okay with him bringing over a guy, he says yeah, then records him. Dick move, I don't feel sorry for whatever time he gets in the slightest.

Yeah that could be. But the video made it sound like he had a great life going until the emberassing video got on the internet.

This is just so sad.

Its hard to bring up words to say how bad this is.

I read the article this morning after hearing about this on Headline News.  So pointless.  I wonder if the guy was openly gay or was he just experimenting at college.  If he was trying to keep his homosexuality a secret then I can see the effect it may have had on his outlook on life.

Makes me think.  About two weeks ago, I was at the Verizon Store and somebody had their Facebook account logged in on one of the phones.  His message was , "Hey Facebook!  I'm at Verizon checking out this new phone!"  I changed his profile status to "I want everybody to know I'm gay" or something like that.  Then I changed it to "I'm a dumbass that forgot to log out at the Verizon Store" or something to that effect.  This story makes me feel pretty bad about that.  It was all in good fun but maybe I caused this guy some harm.  He looked like a douche in his profile pic, though.  But still, I was wrong to do that.

That's fucked up. Is it really still funny to make fun of gay people in 2010? What the hell man...
