So? Who cares? He shouldn't have mentioned a multiplat game... Activision chose to put it on Multiple platforms (HD platforms) and it sold over 20 Million units in under a year. I don't see a problem other than him being wrong, for now.

Ok if we're going to play silly beggars, MW2 has had close to a year on PS3 and a similar amount of time on 360 to sell ::). Lets see where NSMB Wii is after 2 years compared with MW2.

As for what Nintendo has delivered in the last 10 months, they beat the highest rated metawotsit with it's own sequel. I'm talking about Legend of Mario: Starlight Princess 2 (aka Galaxy). So even by metadarling standards they delivered, no? Is it still selling more a week than Red Dead Redemption?

Onto Donkey Kong... you kids today really need to learn some respect, hehe. You've seen what good old fashioned arcade gaming has done to the Playstory generation games. The Kart destroyed the GTAs, even the arcade multiplayer on MW2 combined with a total userbase of around 2 billion? (including PC) is already faltering to little old new super Mario.

Nope, their previous forecast also included 3DS sales, but considered a 2010 release.
So we can't exactly tell how many DS units Nintendo really expected to sell, therefore we can't say by how much they were revised. That 6.5 million figure is just a guess.

Exactly, some people can't understand the fact that a multiplatform game sales can't be combined against other single platforms, for the obvious reasons that you got vary systems boosting sales of the same game.

then why can you compare a Wii game to a 360 game, or PS3 game to 360 since the user bases differ for each one?  Why is it more fair to compare a Wii exclusive to a PS3 exclusive than to compare a Wii exclusive to a multiplat game which has a much closer user base to the Wii?

I would be fine with gathering the sales of a PS3 and Wii multiplat against an exclusive 360 game as long as people understand that there's a huge difference in userbase there.

Your example isn't relavent because soccer teams are designed to have the same number of players on the field precisely to keep things fair, a more relavent example would be is it fair for a gang of 25 to team up with a gang of 15 to take on a gang of 42 or is it more fair for the gang of 25 to just fight the 42 by themselves?
