Thats PR blablabla. He didnt mention one single reason how Ps3 is going to achieve that.

I, same as EA as it seems, prefer PS3 over 360, but how can somebody state something unreasonable without backing it up.

I agree it dosent seem plausable atm, but after Halo Reach, what is there to get a 360 for, Gears 3 and the next Halo. the question is what will happen to the console after this year and when the gen will end. a LOT of people seem to this this gen is over, but that dosent seem logical to me.

I mean MS and Sony have both endorsed the 10 year life cycle, MS stating Kinect will boost the life cycle another 5 years. and neither consoles have been successful compared to the Wii or last gen, so it dosent seem like good business logic to launch successors to consoles that are not in high demand.

i think EA think that as this gen continues there will be an increasing demand in the PS3 because of the library; however i'm not stating one or the other, but how far is the PS3 behind in the UK??

Because no new 360 games are going to be announced right? XCOM, Codename Kingdoms and others will start appearing more prominent in 2011.

PS3 is behind in the UK by 2.1 million units. Nov and Dec last year 360 outsold the PS3. 360 has beaten the PS3 there every week so far this year.

Edit - That means 360 has nearly outsold the PS3 in the UK for 52 solid weeks straight.

thats a very reasonable answer, and i agree; theres no software that will be able to displace that 2.1 mil lead. the only way i could see it happening is with future price cuts and software exclusives; and thats based on the assumption that the gen will last another 5 or 6 years, like MS and Sony want.

we could start to see a change if FIFA11 gets PS3 advertising and GT5 coming...but i don't think the effect will be enough to change the tide...i'm sure it'll be a close battle though.

well, I m sure they are making tonne of money on the 360. They are making more money on 360, let's be clearer.
But they also know those 360 people are very Gears or Halo or CoD biased (not EA games). While PS3 is lacking a "king exclusive" meaning people will tend to buy more multiplateform games (see FIFA).

At the end, multiplateform sales tend to favor PS3 compared to the "official" console user base ratio. That is why EA is loving the PS3.

And, at this question : WHY PS3 software sales on multiplateform games do not follow the userbase ratio PS3/360 ?

- there is no piracy on PS3, there are plenty on 360
- I m GUESSING the 360 userbase is "virtually" slightly inflated because of people buying more than one whatever it is because the old one was broken or because the 360 is cheaper so u can buy several for your children. I doubt many people have 2 PS3s and I doubt people bought many PS3s because their first died by RRoD ...

Also, about the attach rate you are mentionning, since this rate include the 360 exclusive or no EA games (that EA, obviously, dont give a fucking shit) AND since this attach rate is biased because it is calculated WITHOUT taking in count the fact that the 360 was released 1 year before the PS3 (from what I know), I tend to consider it is not an interesting parameter IMHO

I just think for whatever reason the PS3 is impenetrable against the 360 in the UK. I expect the gap to be at least 3 mill by end of 2011
