Forums - Nintendo - 3DS to launch November 21st, Here is why.

There's no way the 3DS is releasing that soon.

Is Nintendo trying to pull a Sega Saturn?

I´ve seen some people argue the 3DS launching this year in the West would potentially harm games like DKC Returns...but is that really the case?...would the game be hurt by a new system?

Only if the 3DS had a better 2D platformer ready at launch, then maybe.

Kirby's Portable Yarn!

Nope.

Donkey Kong Country Returns Again would be it.

No I got a better Idea

New Donkey Kong Country Returns Again!

NDKCRA!

or

Even Newer Donkey Kong Country Returns Again Twice

Japan and EU get it this year and US not before early next year because both SW and HW sales for DS are still great in US. It would be also refreshing change to get console in EU before US! =P

Pokemon Black and White aren't even going to be out until next year, correct? (Besides in Japan).

It just doesn't make sense to release the 3DS now imo.

That would be really epic, I just hope they have enough good launch games to justify buying it day one!

Of course not. Which is why it's not launching this year in NA. Guaranteed.

Anyone who actually thinks that it's launching here this holiday season is going to be sorely disappointed.

Guaranteed How?

DS sales and Wii sales are down and Nintendo needs something else to boost profits again. Obviously the best proposition for them would be to release in November. There is no logic in releasing after the holidays.

Perhaps I'll be sorely disappointed, but I'm really thinking November 21st is correct. Nintendo has done this before with both the Wii and DS (both of those console's release dates were announced in September as well). The pattern is November. I would be surprised if they did it differently.

good logic, and interesting read

As long as Europe gets it this year as well then I'm all good.

If not, then I'll go spazz and get the 3DS in the States.
