I know this always happens but do you think that the Wii will be getting an upgrade of any kind soon or even later this year? The 1 rumor(From last year) says that Nintendo France details were leaked and that a Wii 2 will be having a Worldwide release in 2010. Yes I know with all of these games coming out for the Wii how could a Wii upgrade possibly be coming this year. Well Nintendo has always said that they want to surprise us with the Wii 2 announcement and the Nintendo France leak said that Nintendo would only announce the new Wii 1 month before release for that ideas wouldn't be stolen while creating hype at the same time. September 29th is the date when Nintendo will be showing details concerning 3.D.S but what if they also showed us a new Wii? That would go with the rumor of it being announced only 1 month before release. I will be the 1st one to say that the Wii doesn't need to die or have an upgrade but an upgrade would still be nice if it doesn't cost much with a trade in deal since I know many people who even used to like and play the Wii call it outdated.

That would be insane.

Even just a 3DS launch this year would be enough to steal the wind out of Move and Kinect's sails but a full Wii 2 launch as well?   MS would be left with so many Kinect they'd have to discount them by January.

It'd be amazing to see but I'm not expecting it.  Wii has enough life left Nintendo can coast through this Christmas with it and 3DS sales.

I agree. In fact I almost think it would be a bad idea for them to release a 'Wii 2' this Christmas, because then they'd have two new systems competing against each other. No, I think you'll see just the 3DS this Christmas, and depending on how much Wii sales decline in the first quarter of next year you might see a late 2011 Wii 2 launch, but I'd honestly expect it to come mid-2012 at this point. That gives the 3DS plenty of breathing room and the Wii can continue to decline, so long as it isn't a severe rate of drop off (like 5-15%, perhaps). Of course I could also just be wayyyyy off.

That Nintendo France thing was fake.

We won't see a new Nintendo home console until 2012 at the earliest.

It just can't happen with all the announced titles yet to release (Cosmic Walker, Zelda, Vitality Sensor, Dragon Quest X, Pikmin 3, The Grinder, ....Kingdom Hearts 3... Enclave, and Just Dance 3!

.......plus the Wii needs 2 more price drops.

I'm pretty sure we'll see the Vitality sensor before Wii 2, and who knows when we're going to get that.

Holidays 2011. The loss of steam in Japan is going to push them up, even though they could probably hold out until 2012 if it weren't for Japan.

Dragon Quest X (where in the hell was that at TGS anyway?) will give the Wii a slambang finish in the region, but otherwise they couldn't last until 2012

exactly my thoughts. they should probably release it by the end of 2011. 2012 would be too late. they would loose all the momentum the wii has had and people would start moving to other consoles. probably sad but true. casuals are not faithful (I think)
