I also only owned one PS1 and one PS2.. except they both broke, I replaced my PS1 with a PS2, and my PS2 with a 360, and my 360 with a 360, and my 360 with a 360, and my 360 with a 360 HDMI. Thankfully the 360's were all under extended warrenties, and the HDMI model is proving to be moderatly reliable.

However my Nintendos, NES, SNES, N64, Cube, GB, GB Pocket, GBC, GBA, DS, all work fine. I think the only nintendo produt to break on me was an N64 controller, but by the time Mario Party broke it, the analog stick was actually grinding down into a fine dust and clogging the analog stick slot. Damn Mario PArty..

Damn Mario Party broke my hand! Well not broken bones but it tore some skin off when you had to play tug of war and I started to use my palm on the stick to get a quicker rotation going, a nice layer of skin came off and all I wanted was just to win Tug-o-war just once

I agree with the author and I'd want to add a 3rd point if someone yet hasn't : Move and Kinect will acelerate Wii's decline in 2011 since the hype shift to Kinect and Move (but much more on Kinect). Casual costumers don't have a preference for any manufacturer, they're likely to to buy the newest 'not mature' device and doing this Microsoft and Sony will lure potential Wii buyers. On the others side, core gamers have developped high fidelity to either Microsoft or Sony for continuous support to core content while Nintendo dropped it entirely : those people will not go back to Nintendo systems before long (before 3DS gets serious software I think)

Uhm, maybe the fact that the Wii is currently outpacing the PS2 in sales if you compare timelines? Also, do you expect the Wii to just drop off the face of the Earth when nextgen happens?

Well, that won't be happening, there's still Zelda.  And really, next gen starts in two months probably, when 3DS releases.

I think Wii's got another year or so of life left, but we'll get a Wii 2 announcement next E3 with a Japanese (and maybe American) release before the end of 2011.  We might also get a low price Wii remodel after Wii 2 launch, like we did with the remodeled NES and SNES.

Yeah but what kind of margin, 3-5 million tops i believe? And in this point of it's lifecycle PS2 wasn't even at half of it's current total sales. You really believe Wii is going to end op with double it's current sales?

You also forgot to add to that equation that Wiis don't break down. PS2 is probably the biggest piece of shit hardware ever.The exception of course bieng Xbox 360, but at least Microsoft saw the problem and offered 3 years warranty, which means you don't have to buy a new when the old break down. So everybody that has had a PS2 for a while have to replace it eventually. I currently have a PS2 slim, even though i bought my first in 2001 and this is actually my 3rd PS2.
