Forums - Nintendo - 3DS capable of Gamecube and Wii ports!

Geist was crap. I own it. Trust me. That's not trolling, it's a fact!

Anyways, O-D-C, I would just like to say that the Genesis processor was faster than the Super Nintendo. That is all.

The bus speed was faster. The actual CPU clock speed was 21mhz. So getting around the bus speed was the issue, not the CPU.

baten kaitos port and you can have my wallet :D

Wouldn't an all-new Baten Kaitos game be even better? :)

Both would be better.

Don't forget a port of BK Origins

Part of me has still never forgiven Nintendo for not localising that

Do you mean somewhere in the EMAA?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

mmm i dont think so. Nintendo consoles are always underpowered, this one wont be different.

Snes, N64, and Gamecube say otherwise.

snes = like 20 years ago

n64 = disc space.cartriges anyone?

gamecube = disc space again. 1.8 gb vs 4.5 gb ps2 disc.

Are we talking about console power or format storage?  I thought you said "power".  If so, the Wii is the ONLY time Nintendo was underpowered.  Every other time, Nintendo's console has been comparable or more powerful than the competition.

most gamecube games were compressed as hell and the n64 wasnt able to run  mgs1 or ff8 and ff9,etc.because of cartridges. imagine ff8 or final fantasy 9 without cgi cutscenes....

they always make a profit on their hardware, thats their business model. thats why they are obligated to put at least some outdated components into their consoles. the iphone 4  , for example, costs like 550 dollars to make, the 3ds wont cost 500 dollars. thats why they added 3d, because they cant compete in the graphics department with apple, sony or M$.

(1) Strike 1. I don't think you understand what compression is.

(2) Strike 2.  Resident Evil 2 and StarCraft say hello.

(3) Strike 3.  Adding 3D is actually more compute intensive than not having it.  The system has to render everything on the top screen twice.

You're out!

It was never released here in Europe, and I'm guessing the rest of PAL as well.  Maybe the fact we got Disaster and the US didn't makes up for a little bit of it.

If I remember, there is a sneaky way of playing import GC games on a PAL wii without modding/free loader, I'll have to google it.  Maybe I should try that

here it is: http://www.wiiwii.tv/2007/03/01/play-import-gamecube-games-on-your-pal-wii/

I doubt it.

And the reasons have already been said throughout the thread.

Still doesn't mean GC or Wii games couldn't be ported to the 3DS.
I would kill for Rogue Squadron in 3D!

Tag (Courtesy of Fkusumot) "If I'm posting in this thread then it's probally a spam thread."

the good news is that the 3ds cant be hacked to play ps2 (and then complain about the lack of good game on the system of course) and gamers wont ask for a useless second analog stick.

I thought Viper had some good points about flaws in your explanation, but he used a baseball reference, so I guess you're the undisputed winner.

So basically, the mindset you had in posting this was essentially "oh no, he has defeated my entire argument with ease and grace using irrefutable evidence.  I have no argument.  I guess I'll just have to use an ad hominem attack focused on the baseball aspect because this guy made me look like a jackass."

Stay classy, bro.

You do not have the right to never be offended.
