Forums - Sony - PSP2 is real, 'pretty powerful' and in developer's hands.

Will it have a touch screen? If Sony thinks the move will put the PS3 on top, they are likely copying the other successful Nintendo system as well.

No knocking the system, just surmising a likely scenario.

If they do that, but also include rip-offs of DS hits, then I will start knocking it.

3DS will have an analogue stick similar to the PSP Btw

Which is why I stated just blatantly ripping off hit games was the real problem.

I mean, Nintendo's 3DS output includes their own games, so they clearly aren't ripping off Sony's hit franchises (especially since Mario Kart got greater than Gran Turismo level sales this generation, so no need to rip that off).

Um, I'm assuming English isn't your first language, since the idiom here is "sleeping on the job".

No, am not trying to be one of those jerks mocking a mistake. This looks like an honest mistake, and I was just making a guess as to the cause.

As I precicted a few months ago about how a compeititor would fare against the 3DS:

It will be like if the Dreamcast launched AFTER the PS2, this will get ripped to pieces. (unless Sony pulls something REALLY REALLY impressive)

I LOVE ICELAND!

I'm glad you pointed it out because I didn't know what he meant

I meant what they are doing with the Move. If they included a touch screen on this next PSP, and tried to rip off Nintendogs and Brain Training, I would call on them for that as well.

DO YOU REALISE ALL THAT BY YOURSELF ????

You are so smart !!!

Not sure if you're being sarcastic. I just notice on boards that people not knowing a language will get some idioms wrong, not usually the way it's done in fiction (which is screwing up idioms they heard strictly in English). It's usually when they try to literally translate idioms into or from their own languages.

I hope he's talking about the psp 2, that would be sweet.

http://www.destructoid.com/mortal-kombat-developer-we-have-a-psp2-184089.phtml

Whoops! Looks like a loose-mouthed developer at Warner Bros. has let a certain cat out of a certain bag, with Mortal Kombat Executive Producer Shaun Himmerick stating that his team has the next generation PlayStation Portable.

"We have a PSP2 in the house and we’re looking at the engine, like what can it support," says Himmerick. "Always a big thing for us is the performance. We’re running at 60 fps, what can we do and do we have to build all the art assets over. We’re definitely looking at them. PSP2 looks like it’s a pretty powerful machine. We don’t have a 3DS system in house yet, but we’re looking to get one, and we’ll certainly look at what its power is."

Like all good Sony projects, this is looking like one of the worst kept secrets in town. Just like the PSPgo, inFAMOUS 2, Resistance 3 and Killzone 3. Sony is this industry's perpetual leaky faucet.

I undersand that Destructoid's staff is composed entirely of trolls, but blaming Sony for something the head of a small studio says to a small website at a (relatively) small event?

How the hell can a dev mess up and say PSP 2, more than once?  Either he was misquoted or it's probably real.  Something's afoot....
