Gamasutra: XBOX360 ahead of PS3 Slim

Dude, that was just a joke since the specs you mentioned were comparable to the 360 slim Arcade.  Then I remember the Reach fiasco for that model for some users and just joked that PS3 owners might have that problem as well.  But as a joke again, PS3 users cannot play Halo Reach to begin with on the PS3.  Chill, man...

I'm chill. Perhaps you should take your own advice.

Anyhow, obviously my comment to begin with was a joke.

I think we are all aware a PS3 with only 4GB of flash memory would be useless.

The sheaper X360 console = US$200,00

The sheaper PS3 console = US$ 300,00.

Just as a heads up, the word is spelled 'cheaper.' Using an 'S' instead can have a connotation, due to pronunciation, of sheep, and this has generated an alert. Since you list in your profile that you're from a country where English is not the first language, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, since I know that C, K, and S have these annoying words in the language with pronouncing things and similar sounds...

Actually, I didn't consider the fact that most PS3 games these days require a hard drive install as someone pointed out.  So I thought you were being serious so in my mind it might have been a good idea as a "core" gaming console.

Unfortunately, Sony didn't consider a lot of people just want to pop in a game and play.

Most people don't even play games online.

Perhaps Sony forgot about the casual audience that made the PS1 and PS2 a mega success?

It depends what you're going for and how sucessful you will be at at getting it.  Regardless, I've been more than impressed with SONY's offering this gen because I'm glad it seems they are catering to gamers and not just the masses first.  And thankfully, they can continue to do so thus far.  To come from such early blunders that would have normally spelled doom for past consoles, SONY instead plowed though to provide with some of the best gaming experiences this gen.

Sony appeared to have almost endless funds to piss away into the PS3. Past consoles generally didn't have that.

Id say its a push to be honest. PS3 had a price cut, but the months of the revision to go YoY were holidays so the previous year would be inflated whereas the Slim 360 (without a pricecut) launched without battling a previous inflated year because it was the summer.

Some may argue that since the price cut hit during th eholidays it would cancel out, but id say theres only a certain ceiling and the difference between price effect and holiday boost negate each other.

In other words, this is dumb.

I think Halo, Kinect and the Xbox360 Slim version will be enough to hold off Playstation around Christmas this year. Meaning the 'slim'-effect will be encouraged by the other factors close to it. There is no reason to assume that Playstation will get back from these blows, especially not in the casual market.

Everything you ever wanted to know about Kinect is right HERE
