Could you please explain what digital preorders are? |
Well... on Steam I can preorder a game before and download after launch... I don't know if PSN has anything like.
For example Steam already has Fallout New Vegas preorder.

I really do believe people are overestimating Kirby sales potential. Critics and Nintendo enthusiasts may really like the style of Kirby, but honestly when was the last time a Kirby game really sold well? |
It depends what you mean by 'really well', but Kirby Super Star Ultra sold over 2.59 and this number doesn't include Europe and the game might have suffered from being a port. I don't know about the rest of the world, but here in the U.K that game came out last year so I would say last year is the last time a Kirby game sold really well.

1.42 | 1.17 | 0.00 | 2.59 |
fyi, I think Kirby Epic Yarn will sell about 2.1m worldwide

Halo Reach will easily dominate September software sales. Its funny to me how Bungie been quiet all this time, say what u want about Activision, but, they got Bungie for the next ten years.

OK so a DS game, what about Console games. I looked and the best selling console Kirby has sold 1.77. So dont expect much out of the new Kirby game.
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
Disclaimer: I'm not berating 360 owners or FPS players in general, the statement below is just one of shock and awe.
How much expendable income to 360 owners have that Reach pre-orders are so high as are CoD:BO which is the same genre and a mere 2 months apart? Obviously not every 360 owner is going to buy both of them, but still, I'm sure both will sell really, really well while selling to the exact same demographic.
Do people get sick of Halo after 2 months (seems unlikely)? Do people need to buy every shooter ever released? I know I like hack-n-slashers but I know if DMC5, Bayonetta 2, GoW4 game out within months of each other I would probably only buy 1 of them (ala GoW3 vs. DI)
Obviously people can do whatever they want and if that is what they want then that is great, I'm honestly just trying to understand.

People like FPS games ,it's something you'll just have to deal with. Some people obiviously prefer CoD franchise to halo on 360, so that's what they'll purchase first, or some people like me purchase a multitude of games and never play until a later date( i do this alot)Did people get sick of racing and platformer clones in the other generations?
And to your question about hack n slash games(I don't consider bayonetta a hack n slash but a beat em up but w/e) If DMC5 Bayonetta2 and GoW 4 all got released in the same year I'll be sure to purchase all 3 because i love that genre.
