When I was in collage I had to take a sexual harassment coarse  which was all slanted for woman against men. Guess what woman in the office were equal or worse than the guys.  I do not need to be taught when the courses are onesided hate fests.

So learning about how the different people from different cultures may view things diffently is indoctrination?  Way to be open-minded.  Just because some women in your office act a certain way means they all do??  Are you really that naive?

Apparently I hit a nerve about Fox news.  Fox news is the king of indoctrination.  I've always found it hard to believe that people think they are actually getting the news when they watch Fox, but some actually do.  It is scary to me that people will fall for propaganda so easily.

And Christianity isn't the "main religion" in any country (except maybe the Vitaican if you consider it a country). It mai be the most widespread religion in many countries, but there's no such thing as a "main religion" in a secular country.

And Tolerance??  Qur'an (8:39) - "And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be ONLY for Allah"  .. Only ? Sounds like tolerance to me.

The problem I have with muslims defending islam as purely peaceful either don't read their Quran ( islam bible ) or even worse.. many professed islams are ILLITERATE !  Yes, they are like people who profess to be Christian, but never read their bible and therefore don't know anything.

Muslims also have a word in their language in which it is OK to lie in the name of their religion.

1. Majority of laws in these extreamist nations come from outside the Qur'an.

2. A 'nonBeleiver' in the Qur'an is NOT a Christian or Jew as they are the 'People of the Book' and considered on the same footing as a Muslim before God.

3. You have obviously not read the Qur'an or even the verses before or after the one you quoted... or probaby any other verse you claim tells Muslims to kill others. EVERY single verse about war is in relation to:

A) the wars that were being waged against Arab idol worshippers during the time the Qur'an was being written.

b) is for a DEFENSIVE war only, i.e. AFTER you've been attacked.

c) you MUST accept peace if it is offered by the enemy.

d) "Allah does not like the aggressor" is the common ending where it is always obvious God wants peace and war is only acceptable as a final, forced choice in defense.

4. The rules of warfare in the Qur'an are no different than modern military combat.

5. A warrior CANNOT attack women, children, farms, animals, etc; only actual combatants.

6. POWs must be treated with the utmost quality of life. Healed, fed, and released without ransom when peace has resumed.

Problem is, the extreamist do exactly what you did. They take one single verse and create a ton of propoganda all centered around how US is at war with Islam and wants to kill them all. That causes these uneducated people to perpetuate a lie and act 100% against what the Qur'an teaches.

If you really want to attack Islam, I'd suggest actually reading the source material and not just parroting what some other bigot says.

EDIT: On your part about "There ARE NO verses in any other religion that make it clear ( or even questionable ) that GOD wants you to take someone elses life"... I think you need to reread the Bible. There are plenty verses that speak of war on others as well as "throwing babies against the rocks" etc. Point is, people don't simply read these one liners without understanding the context in which it was written.

White catholic straight male here, being on "top" isn't so great when the PC police are on your back and when the minority scholarships are sent out.

I HATE when people use that verse to prove the islam "support" terrorism. If you read the verses before and after that verse you'll know that it is taken out of context.

Let me clear it out for you:-

(2:190) - "Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors."

(2:191) - "And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith. "

(2:192) - "But if they cease, Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful."

(2:193) - "And fight them on until there is no more Tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah; but if they cease, Let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression."

As you can see, it says that you have the right to attack when they attack you (190). And the one who started attacking stoped and made peace, then muslims must stop and make peace with them too (192-193).
