That's exactly right. When it comes to gaming the Japanese are like Apple fans looking down at PC when they are a tiny percent of the industry yet claim supremacy. How is it that the whole world loves Halo and COD and Mass Effect, but not Japan? The whole world agrees that Xbox 360 has great games, but not Japan. Japan is the only region that continues to snub Xbox 360 no matter how many blockbust games get thrown at them. It can't be a matter of taste becuase Japanese games are very popular in the west. If western gamers enjoy Japanese games then it could be said thaqt western gamers share tastes with the Japanese. But the Japanese don't share tastes with western gamers? How is that possible? Fun is fun and good games and good. Halo, Call of Duty, etc should be universaly enjoyable, but for some reason the Japanese won't even pick up the controller if it's attached to a western machine. I call shinannigans.

America and Japan 1st week sales are in line with good sellers of the series, Others are lower, but it was on sale only two days of its 1st week there, so we should wait for this week's sales to have a rough idea of its initial performance, while legs are anybody's guess. And maybe Samus is already aiming her panda ray at Malstrom...

What the hell is wrong with some of you? Some here sound like: "Japanese are stupid for not liking the 360". Just for clarification, it sounds like it. They have a different taste in games, that's it. I know the 360 has a lot of Japanese games, but for them it just seems weird that a US company brings them Japanese games. I'll give you another example: let's say a JP developer would bring an FPS to the west..., for many people here it would feel weird, too. Furthermore the 360 is probably still seen as an shooter console, which doesn't make things any easier.

They buy different games, they have a different buying behaviour, just look at some JP games which do very well there but do completely bad here. So just live with the fact that Japan is different.

Maybe Wii games appeal more to Japanese people?

Maybe Japanese People don't want ot fuckin pay for online gaming?

Maybe Japanese People love Mario and Pikachu more than Master Chief?

Maybe Japanese Gamers aren't big on Social Gaming like recently pointed out hence not wanting to pay for Xbox Live?

Maybe Sony and Nintendo, both being Native Japanse Companies, promote the crap outta PS3 and Wii way more than MS promoting the X360 in Japan? And Visa verca where the fact that X360 is an American Console and that Social Gaming is big in America, that is why X360 is the preferred console in US.

Maybe Japanese People care more about Handhelds more than Consoles and therefore obviously big PSP and DS sales?

A whole nation can't be a bunch of elitists who refuse to buy an American Console. JP gamers grew up with Sega, Nintendo and Sony consoles and quite frankly, they've been happy with the games on each system. It's just what they've been accustomed to and you should know that Japanese are different to Westerners with different tastes and views on things. And this doesn't only apply to Japan. A lot of other Asian countries are like this. Not specifically related to Gaming, but related to other things.

But Prime 3 was released in Europe in mid Autumn, MoM OTOH, in end of Summer, so wherever the weather was good people exploited the week-end to go to the sea or stay in the open air anyway, not to go shopping.

He has a point- it was a damn fine weekend, after all.

@Cross-X  your wasting your time on these "patriots" they cannot wrap their mind around the fact that some people are not going to like the things they do and they get offended. Its a little disturbing and they keep mentioning awesome games like Halo and COD those are FPS they dont care about FPS in that region so it doesnt matter if said game is the best FPS ever its still an FPS. Americans embrace JP games cause America is a damn melting pot there are all kinds of diff people here, it just makes sense. In Japan there are only Japanese. (Lets not forget 360 has the highest failure rate of any console made)
