How long is the 360 going to reign supreme (sales) wise?

Till Christmas? 21 21.00%

Till Thanksgiving? 11 11.00%

New Years eve? 14 14.00%

Fore the rest of this Gen? 30 30.00%

2-4 more weeks? 18 18.00%

Sooner than later? 6 6.00%

Total:100

For the non-Americans: When is Thanksgiving?!

I think it will sell quite well through September, because of Halo Reach and Special Edition consoles.
it might sell well in October, too. Halo Reach will be quite in October, too and there is Fable III, which seems to sell 1 million units worldwide. The hardware push might be pretty small though.
In November we will see kinect and this might boost sales as well. CoD Black Ops won't hurt sales either.

I still fail to predict Wii sales. it has always been a big ? for me. Is Donkey Kong still a huge franchise with hardware selling power? I expect Kirby to sell like hotcakes.

GT5 is unknown so far. Predictions are in a range from 5 to 15 million. Sure it will move consoles, but I really can't believe there are 1 million people waiting to "start" this generation (people told me so). Why wouldn't they jump in before? There were dozens of Racing games this gen. Forza, NFS, Blur, Burnout, Split second, Grid, Dirt etc etc. As a racing fan, I would have make the jump much earlier. But that is just me. LBP 2 won't do anything hardware wise. I just doubt Move will make people by a PS3. It should get casuals, but they need to invest $400 to play Move on the PS3. And the casuals might not see that difference to the Wii, which starts at $200.

So I say mid October for sure. November might be a virtual tie with the Wii.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Oops I thought this thread was about 360 and PS3 sales so I never took the Wii into account.  It'll probably be first (but not by the margin it was last year) or close to it because I think if Kinect or Move really take off Nintendo will have a price drop to try to counter it.

The PS3 might need another price cut to start outselling the 360 again.

The 360 sales since the launch of the Slim has been incredible.

I don't think it will continuously outsell the Wii this holiday, but probably a large chunk of that time.

Above the PS3 ? (on a normal, weekly basis. 1 week boosts due to game release not included)

Probably til August/September 2011 or whenever Sony will cut the price again.

For all non Americans

Thanksgiving is an American and Canadian Tradition.

For Americans it occurs on the fourth Thursday of November.

It is believed that the first Thanksgiving was conducted by the Plymouth Pilgrims to mark suriviving their harsh first winter.

The Friday after Thanksgiving, although not a Federal holiday, is a holiday for many companies, except for those in retail. It is also a day off for most schools. It is popularly known as Black Friday, so-called because of the heavy shopping traffic on that day.

Another reason for the term 'Black Friday' is that many stores reach sales numbers that take them out of the red and (hopefully) keep them in the black for the rest of the fiscal year. Black Friday has been considered by retailers to be the start of the Christmas shopping season since at least the 1930s.

This is what I ppredicted last month in Machina's thread.

I stated that the PS3 will outsell 360 for a week or two with the new Move bundles.

I am the black sheep     "of course I'm crazy, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong."-Robert Anton Wilson

I voted until Christmas with great reservations.

Gran Turismo 5 is hard to tell. From the last month or so, it's preorders have been fairly steady from 6000/week to 7000/week. I think Gran Turismo 5, just like Metroid: Other M when we have the numbers out will fall below expectations. However, if  Sony bundles GT5 and places in a price drop for the PS3, then I could see the numbers skyrocketing from where they were.

Hell, when the preorders from Fallout: New Vegas are just 40,000 behind the latest Gran Turismo game, you know it has been a long time and people have forgotten what made Gran Turismo so magical in the first place. During the PS2 era, we gamers would have found it unconscionable the latest Gran Turismo game would have such weak preorders and be less than 100,000 up on a multi-plat RPG whose predecessor many did not love and demeaned it as "Oblivion with guns." Gran Turismo 5, in many regards, has to recapture the phenomenon that turned Gran Turismo into Sony's flagship brand, then again if it is bundled then new Sony buyers will not have a choice.

Nintendo is the wildcard this holiday season. Both Kirby and DKCR will have better 1st week and 1st month sales than Metroid: Other M. Both are unintimidating, beloved franchises. Kirby not so much, but it's one-of-a-kind art style will appeal to a lot who have never played a Kirby game.

I believe it will be close after Thanksgiving with the 360 and Nintendo running tight for the top spot, but the combination of Black Ops, Fable 3, Red Dead Redemption, and Kinect will push the 360 over the top.

I went for 4 weeks but I would have preferred a 6 week option.

Jesus, some of you guys got thicker skulls than the plating on the Yamato.

Ever since this gen started X360 and PS3 have switched places depending on price cuts.

The Wii's slump is a weirder thing, but as soon as mainstream sales season kicks in it'll go back up.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

Can't say to be honest. But I will go with 2-4 weeks because it seems as good a prediction as any. I figure you mean overall number one sales position, right?

Tease.
