Well, I got a tweet yesterday saying that they no longer plan to burn the Quran (see--I told you guys that Twitter was worth having!).  I think they made the right choice.

Have you gotten a tweet yet telling you he still might. He has said he was lied to when he made that statement. He was told the Mosque near 911 was going to be moved, and that seems to not be true.

The more I hear about this, the more I want to do my own demonstration.

I want to find 5 of every holly book. The Quran, Bible, Old testament, Bhagawat Geeta, the Tripitaka, and anything else I can think of.

I want to then burn them all, and then see who gets pissed off and wants to kill me, and my country.

Let's really see of all religions are created equal.

Because studies show that there are huge amounts of people with PTSD in that area due to the attacks?  I believe the Figure is like... a 15% baseline for that area, 4-5% over the nation as a whole, and that's a place where people go to work through their issues about that place getting knocked over... so yeah.  Plentry of reason.

And... why should people building a mosque care that by building it there they are going to cause lots of undue unrest, trouble and emotional pain to people?

I dunno, the same reason McDonalds wouldn't want to build in the place mentioend in the above example?

Or the same reason this chruch wouldn't want to burn a Qu'ran?  You know... the fact that it woul cause a lot of undue unrest, trouble and emotional pain to people.

Common human compassion and decency.

The difference is that the mosque isn't meant to cause anyone any unrest, while the Qu'ran burning is meant to do just that. And I'm willing to bet most people who don't want the mosque built hate muslims anyways. Plus during the terrorists attacks all those people you claim to have PTSD could have seen was planes crashing in the towers, not a giant Mohammed blimp doing that. So at most that could be scared of planes, not of muslims.

And the peopel who want to build the mosque shouldn't have to apologise for what the terrorists did, nor should they have to feel guilty about it and allow themselves to be pushed around by wackos driven by irrational fears.

That really isn't relevent.  The end result is the same... and futhermore they know the pain it will cause.

I mean hell... slavery wasn't emeant to do anybody any harm.  The slavers actually thought they were doing black people a favor.  According to your reasoning, slavery was better then that, because at least they meant well and thought they were doing good.  Rather then intentionally causing harm as a side effect.

As for your arguement about PTSD... All it shows is your complete lack of knowledge about PTSD and further insensitive remarks towards people with a mental health issue.

It's not about "feeling guilty".  It's about doing something decent for people rather then knowingly antagonize them.  It's an identical situation to the above McDonalds thing I mentioned, which you've likely only ignored because you would feel differently about that and know I'm right.

No, you're not right. Because your being right is the only one. You've decided to be the sensitive man that defends the poor souls with PTSD. Unfortunately your whole point is somehow flawed. Considering how many bombings there were around the world led by christian extremists, some that took place in the US, then we should assume that people should not like to live next to a church , right?

well, i assume you understand where i'm going with this. I'll write it anyway.

It is only pure phobia of Islam that i see with your reasoning. What some group does should and cannot be tied to any specific religion, mainly because of the absurdity that awaits us later. People in Belfast have been blown to smithereens by both catholics and protestants more than once, but do you see anyone making a fuss of living next to a newly built church in Ireland? And i assure you that there were many  people with PTSD .

Unfortunately if you had your way with "protecting" people with the syndrome you only actually make it worse by fueling their fears and enforce their feeling of being entitled to their "genuine" fear. You know that facing fear is the only way to go forward. And it's been almost 9 years since the attack. About time to take a few steps forward.

I'm only addressing the bold here, because it's the only thing I have to address.

Yes.  I've used it as an example before actually.

If someone were to blow up an abortion clinic in the name of god, it would be VERY disrespectful to build a church within visible distance of the smoldering remains of the abortion clinic.  It would be disrespecful, damaging and hurtful to those who lost loved ones and others who may of been traumtized by such events.

Any such church should be protested vigoursly... and that's a MUCH smaller case with not even likely a thousanth of the victims.

That is something that you should be ashamed to say.

Do not, DO NOT try to downplay something just because it has less victims. It proves nothing but small-mindedness on your part. Blaming a religion group for something certain individuals did  is never a solution that humankind should accept as normal. My country was decimated not one and not twice by countries as Russia, Germany. Sure it happened a long time ago, but according to what you imply we should protest the hell out of every company, every church for what was done because it is a sign of disrespect towards the Polish nation. But we do not blame people for something that they have not done. What's the difference here?

Who's downplaying anything?  The number of victims very much does matter.   If September 11th killed 1 person, like almost nobody would have PTSD hence it wouldnt't be an issue.  The number of people with PTSD in an abortion clinic bombing, I'm not sure how many would have it, but I gurantee it'd be far less then 9/11.  Still, it'd just be disrespectful to build a church there.  It's not downplaying anything, you can tell by the fact that I want a church there.  It's funny you can accuse me of trying to downplay something yet yourself are downplaying both issues by thinking it's ok to put triggers right in peoples faces.

Protest every church and company?

Germans and Russians decimated Poland in the name of Buisness and Religion?

I thought they did it in the names of Facism and Communism respectidly.  Additionally, the whole country is too big a "cross to bear".   The biggest sites of said decimation though, I think it isn't too much to ask that people not build communist or facist buildings in that area.  (Of their own choice of course, not through legal means).

Afterall I'm sure there are a lot of people with issues due to the invasions of Russia and Germany.  It's reflected in the politics of the country.

you are not a public figure and more than likely wouldn't get any media coverage so I doubt anyone would car TBH, but if it makes you happy go ahead might be expensive tho. If you do do it be sure to post pics and video on here.

Don't see him short, I mean that guy who wanted to burn the Koran leads a church of like 50 people.

Terry Jones also wrote a book called "Islam is the Devil" he isn't exactly unknown, and from what I can tell is rather outspoken on the matter.

This crazy nut is putting whe whole world at risk of WW3 by trying to burn the holy book of the worlds largest religion, and u say its 'clever move'?

If anybody want to say ur god is better than my god, fine, go buy a ticket, go to Taliban and be a Rambo, stop hiding behind the cover of home soil and putting all the live of soldiers in foreign land at risk. Nobody want WW3, its not shooting cyber heads in Call of Duty anymore, its the lives of ur mom, ur dad, ur kids and everyone u know at stake here. Without oil from Middle East, u cant even fly ur damn planes to fight with them.

I dunno.  I think the Pope hat is up for discussion for Best Hats.

I'm not even religious though I've just heard members of other religions complain to me or to others that they don't have the privaleges Muslims do.

As for this "media" hype train, well I wouldn't blame the Media as much as I would blame Michael Bloomberg for how massive this isssue has become. I used to date someone from the LE and got to know her and her friends well enough, hung out in the area for shoping and so on. Honestly the community down there probably wouldn't give two snits, but then there's always the albino black sheep in the bunch. Mike Bloomberg has been on a tyraide to make sure that he is remembered.

History doesn't remember billioneres but it does remember the movers and the shakers. I remember when 9/11 happened everyone was rushing to take care of anyone they could down there, everyone assumes New Yorkers are big city snobs but the fact that I walk around and 9 out of 10 times someone will hold a door for me shows there's an awareness for your fellow New Yorker. 9/11 was just the fulcrom of that.  Most people forget that New Yorkers unlike most of the rest of America aren't usually 4th generation americans, most of us come from other countries or are 2nd generation. But when 9/11 happened I remember people wanted to keep Juliani for a while longer even after his term until the issues were handled. But Bloomberg who had already narrowly won his election said no way and pushed hard on the two term limit statue.

Now Bloomberg has pushed and got his 3rd term and creates a big fuss over something that's none of his business, his job is to maintain the growth and peace of the city by managing the city agencies. The Borough President or the Local Council are who are supposed to be handling this case and at the top it goes to the State Senator.

It seems the most degnerous place in the world is between that man and a camera, he's getting old I guess.

But honestly I would love to know what the rest of the world has to do with this whole issue. The Federal government litterally has NO BUSINESS with this issue, a general half way around the world should not be commenting on this issue. The STATE GOVERNMENT has nothing to do with this. If those guys bought the property then they have a right to build whatever they want so long as it is law abiding. The thing is that if the community is against it THE COMMUNITY can sue them and 4 times out of 5 win.

(BTW Mike Bloomberg is on his 3rd term dispite it being rejected by popular vote 2 times. Then having the peoples vote ignored and the council of reps decided to ignore the law this once.)

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

I'd be shocked if it wasn't a self published book.
