After Gettysburg, the next movie we watched in class was...

Awesome movie that starts off slowish but continuously gets better. Part of history that's, like, never talked about. Very good characters. Too bad we skipped the sex scenes, lolz (well I saw a few nipples).

Yeah I liked Gangs of NY a lot.

lol you must be really young if they show you movies at school.

lol I'm in 11th grade (and I have some 12th graders in my class), not that young. Also the class I'm talking about is an elective called History Through Film.

But Soriku, remember to do your homework and not just watch movies and talk on videogames forums all day.

I think GoNY was a good choice for this kind of class. While the movie disappointed me with its average maincharactergetshisrevengeplusthegirl story, I liked it for the very interesting historical setting which was rarely used before in any movie - if ever. The set design and the powerful, aggresive acting and directing are phenomenal.

I liked the set design, aggressive acting was also suitable for the characters, but the grotesque side of too many of them was so exaggerated that it ruined the movie for me, as it wasn't supposed to be a parody, but sometimes it unintentionally arrived to look so. A big wasted opportunity.

Yes, as I said I was disappointed either, but when I watched it recently for a 2nd time I ignored the predictable storytelling and the overdone characters and just watched it for the historical setting and events. Gangs of NY is one of Scorsese's weakest movies imo but still an interesting experience. I can't say that about the acclaimed Departed or After Hours which disappointed me much more for different reasons.

I just watched resident evil afterlife. The 3D effects were kind of cool, but that was about it. The movie was pretty bad,it was all style and no substance. They left room for another sequel. I hope this movie fails so bad at the box office,so they stop making these movies. lol

The last movie I watched at home was Whisper of the Heart, this movie was actually surprisingly well done, it really pulled you in and let you feel the magic of something as mundane as teen romance. Another great Studio Ghibli movie to add to the list.

In theaters the last movie I saw was Machete. This movie was exactly what it was supposed to be, a horrible, dirty, mindless, B rated action movie. It was horribly awesome leaving you never wanting to watch it again.

Cloverfield (2008)
Better then some of the films I've managed to catch the past week or two, but still nothing super special. The film style was alright, but the plot was pretty weak, it would have been a much better film if there was more information about the events, obviously I understand the point was not knowing, and feeling like it was real, but some information just sparcely placed would have made it a more enjoyable experience for me.

Transformers is the last movie I have watched. And I really enjoy it.

I watched "In the loop" at home last night. Quite a funny British movie . Last movie in the cinema was Inception, maybe next week I'm gonna go to Machete, which will probably awesome just like other Rodriquez movies.

Dial "M" for Murder

Ok Hitchcock film, definately not his best.
