Forums - Gaming - Why are YOU interested in Kinect and/or Move?

Simple question for everyone here and I want HONEST answers.

The reason for me asking this is because I hear from both sides how these people are excited or that those people are excited, yet whenever I bring it up to people at my job who are 360 only gamers I get the usual response of "I don't care about some stupid camera".

When I ask my co-workers about the Move they has no idea what I am talking about and after explaining it to them they would respond with comments like "What's the point when I have a Wii?"

So why are YOU excited?

Do you want Kinect because you are genuinely excited about the launch lineup and games that have been revealed for the future or are you buying it only based on some saying that it has potential?

Do you want Move because you are genuinely excited about the launch lineup and games that have been revealed for the future or are you buying it only because it is like playing the Wii but with better graphics, trophies and better online support?

If you are not excited about one or the other, or even both, tell me why too. Tell me what you dislike about the tech, the games or what ever else comes to mind. Give me the reasons why you would refuse to drop the cash to pick them up.

Mods please don't close this thread because it will undoubtedly have a lot of negative Kinect and Move responses. This is exactly what I am looking for. Not sugar coated all nice posititivity, but reality. I want to know what part of each tech strikes our user's interests.

Thanks everyone.

Me and my sister were talking about kinect and got exited because we think it's a way to get our mum into gaming. I think my exact words were "omg it's great, all she has to do is stroke the tiger!". We are probably putting our money together to buy one and put it in the family home.

I'm really unsure about the move. I'll probably pick up the starter kit, but I was really hoping for more info on Ape Escape at E3 because it is one of my favourite franchises of all time. I was disappoint =/

Edit: I was happy to hear about Dead Space extraction for the move though!

I'm genuinely excited for Dance Central.. I can see 100plus hours of fun with my friends.. and with DLC.. I really can see me playing this for years..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

I'm not, unless Sony or Microsoft bribes me a little.......did I mention how much I love wonderfull games like Kung-Fu Rider and Kinectimals?

I figure it is only fitting for me to start this off.

Kinect - Do not want because I don't want to spend $300 for the bundle and then another $50 for Dance Central. $450 is a steep price for me, as is $200 total if I still had my 20GB Core Model. The other games just aren't my cup of tea either.

Move - I already have a PSEye and am already grabbing LBP2, so for me to jump in it only requires me to spend an extra $50 for (1) Move controller. So the low cost is why I am giving it a chance.

Edit - I guess I didn't start this off, lol.

Anyways, thanks for the response so far everyone.

I will get Kinect because it's exciting new technology and I'm an Xbox fan.

im getting move because i always liked the concept of the wii, i always though about getting one, but the controls didnt feel realistic. also i wasnt willing to buy it for 350$. the thing is i always wanted one, mainly because i love mario games, because im interested in mh3, and because the controls were interesting and offered me a fresh experience.

then sony came up with the ps move, which is more accurate and feels more realistic. i wasnt really interested at the begining, but after they anounced kz3 support i was sold. with games like infamous 2, kz3, and socom 4 getting patches i was bound to buy it, also titles like sorcery, sly cooper collection, and heroes on the move persuaded me more into buying the move since they were move only. as for launch games, im maybe getting the fight, other then that i might get lbp2 and if i cand find sly cooper collection in my country il buy it..  il have to wait and see, until now gt5 has all of my hype.

even though i havent showed my hype for the move im buying it, also im hyped for it :P

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

Kinect: This is all about the potential. I want to see what can be done in games with this tech, but right now, the games aren't doing much with that potential. If I ever get Kinect, it's not because of the games that are currently announced, as only Child of Eden actually excites me.

Move: Move also has tonnes of potential, and while the launch lineup isn't all that exciting, there are still must haves in between. Heavy Rain is also a big pusher, mostly because the motion controls with Sixaxis were already well executed, and I really want to see how it plays with a controller like the Move. On top of that, LittleBigPlanet 2 is bound to be a birthing place for awesome control mechanisms with its Move support, and that's something I really want to see, and games like Sorcery are looking to push the Move into Kinect-territory without the drawbacks of that technology. Plus Echochrome ii needs to be played with a Move.

Edit: Plus I already own a PS Eye, so the price of entry with the Move is fairly low for me.

^ ^ Forgot all about Sorcery, the game looks solid.

Ask Savior about that, he had a chance to play it.

I'm not. Have one already and now I am sure that it is not for me.
