Mass Effect 2 is massively overtracked here by the way.

Still hasn't been adjusted from that "1.6 Million sold" figure we got.

http://kotaku.com/5536720/bad-company-2-sells-five-million-fifa-sells-a-lot-more

We had perfect figures for Dante's Inferno, FIFA and Bad Company... But Mass Effect 2 was 1.6 Million sold on the 360 alone. Nevermind PC too.

Interesting. You should see what Brett has to say about that.

Though I'll point out that thee's no source cited for that conference call and they might not be including PC sales, nor is it illustrated the date up to which sales had been counted.

Well it was reported by a LOT of websites... And Nothing from EA to refute any of the claims. And as I said... Our numbers for every other game were pretty much spot on. I think we had ME2 on the 360 alone on 1.6 Million sold, so no PC sales, nothing on shelves and no DD sales.

Brett never replied to the claims or anything. I remember posting the link to the thread we had here to him but we got nothing.

You mean like this when EA said they already shipped 2 million in its first week ?

http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/27012/Mass_Effect_2_Sells_In_2_Million_Units.php

I mean in the link I posted that says they have had 1.6 Million units sell through (not shipped, including digital sales) at the end of March.

Try reading what's been said and the links posted before you try butting in with something completely irrelevant.

Why so aggressive Carl ?

You know, there are times where I like you (the past weeks for example) and times where I can't stand you and with that statement you're slowly heading into the other section again. I hope I'm mistaken about that.

I don't doubt that Mass Effect 2 might be a bit overtracked here and there, but you make it sound like it didn't even hit a million at the end of March.

I would've even accepted the 1.6 million number as shipped if it was for 360 only. With PC sales and digital distribution that number just sounds so fake.

But you also said that they might used a tracking service like NPD and Chart Track. There would still be quite a few regions left where they didn't got any numbers from.

I'm not being aggressive. It's just annoying when someone does something pointless. I remember telling you the exact same thing in the original thread about these numbers and the shipped numbers.

And even if there were regions they didn't get numbers from.. It would still mean the PC sold 0 copies of the game. 0. None at retail and none online at all according to VGC.

Yes. They shipped 2 Million as the first shipment. Yet they are saying they sold through of 1.6 Million. Are we not to believe the actual publisher of the game now?

@Khuutra

Nah. Not NA only. They specifically say Europe aswell so...

How exactly  is FFXIII a flop again? It got a metascore of 82 and that justifies calling it a flop? So you mean it was critically rated lower than people expected it to be? Almost every single person I know who has played the game loves it.  Those who actually like RPG's say its one of the best Final Fantasy games they've ever played. For me it ranks in my top 10 games of all time and I've been a fan of the series for over a decade.

This is not to mention its sales, which just overtook FFXII and continue to show signs of life.

Resonance of Fate, WKC, MAG and Peace Walker all sold well.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

With all the numbers we have from NPD and chart positions we have fromg GfK, PC sales must have been terrible anyway. Both 0 and 300k sales sound similar unlikely to me. Especially when Steam sales are included.

300k PC sales sounds a lot more reasonable than there being MINUS units...

A lot of flops... I would say any game under 75 is a floop in score, depending of the game of course, I wouldnt expect a zelda title to be under 90, but what about the sells?... Does the game really need to sell a million, just get even or it is ok just to meet expectations?... If a game cost $20-$25- million to produce on ps3/360 any game above 500K should be fine i guess... And so for wii I think, $5-$15millions so above the 300K should be fine I guess... Am I right or...?

I love it how PSP games have flopped even before their release.

If Metal Gear Solid can't sell on the PSP what hope does Valkyria Chronicles have? Ghost of Sparta is the only game I'd put money on passing 500k this year.

Are you talking about the US or west only?  Because 4 games have sold 500k so far this year and MHP3 will probably do it in 5 minutes.

FFXIII FLOP??? U r kidding right.
