Square Enix opened up its new SaGa portal last week with a tease for a new entry in the long running RPG series. The identity of the new game has leaked out in advance via Famitsu.

The new game is a DS remake of Game Boy's SaGa 3: Jikuu no Hasha. The original was released domestically 1991 followed by an overseas release under the name Final Fantasy Legends III two years later.

The DS remake is titled SaGa 3 Jikuu no Hasha: Shadow or Light. Players can look forward to updated visuals and new gameplay systems.

I was right, booyaa! Will look forward to this remake.

That was my very first RPG (unless you count Zelda II).

I missed out on the Final Fantasy Legend  series, doing a little reading up on it I see it's actually the SaGa series, which SaGa Frontier is one of my favorite PS1 RPGs on the other hand Romancing SaGa wasn't quite so hot (yeah yeah a SNES game on PS2 yaddah yaddah still kinda lame) 

I wouldn't mind trying this out.

Had Ishi not left, I really do think we'd have seen Seiken 2-3 remade on DS by now.  Too bad imo, though they shouldn't let Brownie Brown near them imo after how bad Sword of Mana turned out.

They should port that awesome looking phone remake of SD1 to DSiWare to make amends...
