Not saying it's inaccurate but I still find it kind of strange that MS or Bungie haven't announced that Reach has over a million preorders yet. No way does it have over 400k in Canada and Latin America.

The Prologue won't teach you anything. Previous main games have come out 6 months to a year after the Prolouge, this one? 2.5 - 3 years in some places, meaning if GT5 HAD come out 6 months after, it more than likely would have stumbled to 2 million.


i can say the same thing for halo 3.

What about it?

if halo 4 released 6 months after it, it would have never have reached 8 million.

point is halo isnt a game about great legs and at 6 months of sales it was about 7.5 million(im not sure), so 6 months after release it sold more then 3 million which is a lot.  prologue teaches us that their is an audience for gt5 and that the game will have legs.

8 million / 2 million? The difference is vast. And your anology doesn't work.

Halo Reach fantastic numbers.  

Really impressed with Fable 3 as well, looking like it will have strong sales.  GT5 regardless is disappointing in pre-orders.  It will still sell great but not on par with the PS2 games of the franchise.  Delays I think is the main cause.

Why do you keep singling me out?  ;P

The thought never would have even crossed my mind if they didn't have a history of those types of announcements (Halo 3 1 million preorders, Wars 2 million DLs). Although come to think of it I think the H3 announcement was for all of North America. Maybe they just decided to forgo it in this case.

I agree, I feel GT5 will get 8.5 million (as stated in my sig), which is still remarkable for a PS3 exclusive. I agree with the delay issue, GT 1 and 3 were the two more popular GT games and they released near the launch of their consoles. GT2 and GT4 didn't and sold a little worse. GT5 is being released 4 years after the launch of the PS3, same as GT4, and the fanbase just isn't as strong as it used to be. Also the console is no longer the dominant one, so casual gamer sales will be cut significantly.

Why the hell are people still pre-ordering Black Ops en mass?!?!?

At least Halo Reach is still having pretty decent pre-orders (should really have twice that many pre-orders for how good of a game its gonna be)

Fable 3 is having amazing pre-orders, it might just be able to make it to 4 million.
