I will, when I make posts that not only ask for trouble, but have little to do with the topic. Since this is an instance where the topic is far more derailed than it should have been in the first place, I see no need to continue.

And please, keep the patronizing at a minimum, you haven't exactly exhibited model behavior here.

I guess we have more similarities than you might think

OK Barozi, I'm actually pretty surprised you're continuing on this tirade. I thought you were more level headed than that. Learn something new everyday.

Anyway, @ MARCUS: Looking at what ThatGameCompany, Capcom, & Ubisoft have said, it continues to bring in benefits because they don't (really) charge for the service. Another reason United Front went exclusive with ModNation.

We live to learn and believe me you're not the only one who learned something today.

oh goody i missed something! wht is eveybody learning.

Wow, seriously?  The internetz fail to amaze me in what they show about human behavior.

Anyway, on topic, not surprised by the numbers for download exclusive titles.  360 has a larger install base, a lot larger in the US which enjoys DLC more than other areas (so I've read or heard).  Not bad numbers anyway and if companies are making lots of money on the PSN then, even better.

Glad to see that DD is building up some steam.....zing!...groan...:(

Not seeing "MK 2 HD" in there makes me question these figures

I mean that game stayed in the top 10 for long...long time

since when developers get all the money we pay for a game??? for example: i bought fat princess for 15$ back in the days and i bet the devs get only about 8$ or 9$ from my money so the numbers of sales don't mean a thing. Titan Studios had to pay bandwidth fee to have it on PSN Store SCEA as the publisher have a cut in the money too, and the list goes on... all that affect devs studios revenue.
Those sales numbers are way off.

Fade didn't ask the developers how much money they made on these games, they obviously track sales and then calculate the overall revenue. Sony's profit inclusive.

in the article it says:
FADE Top 5 Estimates for PSN Lifetime Sales, by Revenue
so "by Revenue" what does he mean? "Estimates for PSN Lifetime Sales" says that they don't track sales at all...

in the OP it clearly says that based in the revenue and dividing it by the full price of the game you get the sales numbers...
that is wrong.

nothing is wrong.

to keep it simple for you, the games are ordered by revenue. I hope you understood that. If not, don't bother to read any further. Now you see the price of the game right next to it, so you can calculate how many digital units the game sold. Still pretty simple right ?

FADE doesn't know the exact revenue split, VGC  doesn't, I don't and you don't either. So why bring up possibly false numbers when you can simply state the overall revenue.

Look at that: http://www.geek.com/articles/games/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-reaches-milestone-with-1-billion-in-sales-20100113/

Even Activision counts "their" revenue in retail sales. Production costs, retailer and console manufacturer included ! Hell even now Activison didn't earn 1 billion dollars from Modern Warfare 2.

Also you may have to reconsider your understanding of estimations. After all VGC only tracks around 5-10% of the American market. Everything else are just estimates based on that data. NPD does the same Famitsu and Chart Track as well. Only difference is that they are bigger and therefore can track more stores.

Why are people saying they only focus on games made specifically for PSN/XBLA when they track (or claim to) Steam and Virtual Console?  Would help if they showed their methodology on the site, but it looks like you have to buy a report to see it.  But if I had to take a shot in the dark, I'd say they use leaderboards which PS1 games don't have and retail/PSN games would be mixed between retail sales, PSN sales, rentals, used copies, borrowed copies, etc.  Not that plain downloadable games don't have plenty of factors for error with multiple accounts and game sharing.

And Wipeout HD?  is one of the greatest in the PSN, minimal, it would have 2millions of downloadings
