eventually japan is going to matter a lot..

if nintendo doesn't take japan, sony may

At this point, Japan matters more as a center for development imo.  The industry itself is still big, but it's shrinking due to Japan's birthrate crisis.  And for consoles it's pretty much purely secondary, handhelds have taken over in every sense. That said, there's pretty much no way PS3 will ever exceed Wii's lifetime sales in the region.

I do think PS3 (and 360) will weather 3DS better than Wii does though.  Better luck with Wii 2 Nintendo...

Consider your pro HD bias exposed!

Out of curiosity why do you think that?

Poor Neptune i was thinking it'll do 40-50k first week.

But then again over 10k PS3 lead over Wii is making me happy :)

That's good enough for a compile heart game, allthough for some reason this one got a little more hype than there avarage game.

To me it still looks mediocre though.

When is Nintendo going to announce the release dates for their 1st party games?

September, October and November are empty 3rd party wise and the only game from Nintendo will be Metroid: OM next week, which dones't look like a big hit by any means.

PS3's September is empty, but they've got Move launch in October and GT5 in November.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

That comment makes no sense. Why make PS3 games in Japan when you can make PSP games instead. It has a larger fanbase.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba
