According to my Nintendo Power calendar, today (August 22) is the 23rd anniversary of the release of The Legend of Zelda on the NES.

Other August Nintendo birthdays you may have missed:

August 1st: 21st B-Day of the Gameboy and Super Mario Land.

August 13th: 19th B-Day of the SNES, Super Mario World,F-Zero, and Pilotwings

August 14th: 15th B-Day of the Virtual Boy (and 21st B-Day of Sega Genesis)

Stupid question about the birthdays... Which release do they count? Japan, US?
