official Obsidion site says PC 360 PS3 so I will believe them, I still probably won't get it after the disappointment that was 2 and the fact that Obsidian has a rather spotty record. Unless of coarse it gets really good reviews and modding tools.

It truly looks beautiful. If I'm ever gonna play a Diablo clone again it definately should be this game.

Going by the official site, this is still PC too, so it is an extremely misleading title. That said, DS2 was pretty crappy and DS1 was just ok at best. I highly doubt this will be any good of a game honestly.

They have a very erratic record like KOTOR 2 was awesome, but then you have stuff like Alpha Protocol!

Anyway so far it "looks" good at least!

The problem with Obsidian is that they apparently can't create a good new IP, but they always manage to get good results when making an add-on, spin-off or even sequel to already existing gaming series. Usually not as good as the original, but still easily worth playing.

This looks a whole hell of alot better than I thought it would.

I will need to keep a close eye on this.

 

Tho I do have to wonder at the difference between the console/PC versions (and just how delayed the PC version will end up being....)

I agree. the Siege series is just bland. It's an uninspiring series of games from Gas Powered Games. Though to the credit of the GPG. I have found that DS was more tech demo for their engine than a good game. The engine was magnificent and could with effort replicate any RPG or Diablo like game. The problem was that the engine was in a swamp mix of Diablo clone and generic. Making the ability to do much more than map making an incredibly difficult exercise. I remember when NWN nights came out their was much fan developer debate. DS in the end trumped NWN engine, but it would be going back to the drawing board in regards to much of it.

As I see it. If DS3 is anything like DS1&2. It's going to be pretty graphics wrapping mediocre game play. I've been burned 3 times on with Siege. I won't bother with a 4rth.



Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

ah, I played the crap outta the first one with my mates back in the days, chicken gun ftw. never tried second one, but now its on consoles huh. I'll wait for others feedback on this one first tho.
