What do you mean by dumping a bunch of feature?
I'm not talking about some hybrid TBS/RTS like Total War, I mean an RTS with base management in real-time, the difference being what I said earlier, you get to put troops on walls to protect against enemy siege pushes, wich can make for some epic defence scenarios similar to the battle of Helms Deep. When ships battle, the actual units on the ships does stuff, but other then that it will play like a straightforward RTS, and there is no fighting morale system like in Total War either.
I LOVE ICELAND!

WHAT/!??!?! Again? I typed up a really awesome game idea and it was a ghost post!!!

I meant you just said "Huge, lots of stuff, this and this and this, land, sea, air, etc"
I mean, I'm sure a game with a lot of stuff is awesome. But that's not really an creative idea.
And yes, you do put troops on the wall in Total War. And yes, Total War has epic siege battles. No fighting morale system? That's crap. Otherwise, if you just have stronger troops you'll win. No worrying about flanking, no worrying about attacking vulnerable units first, etc.
Edit: Wait, or you're saying starting from an RTS, you have RTT aspects? Eh, so it's more like Total War, with... production? O.o
That's the fucking thing I hate about RTS, they completely lose the epic feeling of battle when you have to deal with shit like that. What the fuck are you producing in a siege? The whole point is that you can't produce anything because you're denied outside resources.

It sounds cool, let's hope some game developers pick this idea. (I'll come back in a few minutes to post my idea for a game, I'm not good at this but I'll try.) |
thanks i'll be sure to read your post. just say what you fill the story is and all will go well.
| snfr said: I don't know how to call my game and I also don't know how it will work exactly, but I have at least the basics: We all know that there are so many FPS games out there, especially games about World War II. My game would be set in WWII (could also be another war) as well, but you're not a soldier, you're a civilian who experiences all the evils of a war. Basically you have to survive, probably by hiding yourself and your family from the enemy soldiers, by providing/getting enough food and water, by escaping enemy troops, etc. I don't how a game like this could be made engaging enough so that you want to go on with the story, but basically it's a good idea, I guess. It could be that I read something like similar a few years ago somewhere in the internet, but I'm not sure, so I posted it. |
i like it. i'd say it's a strategy action game. i have another game similar to this but it's not set in war time. it's more like make your own weapons to survive.

More options can be added, like the dog making puppy eyes and so on These options will be given and more could be unlocked as you play along. The dog will be able to converse with all other animals, whenever a dog needs to converse with a HUMAN it will open up a kind of mini game that you need to get a certain score in for the human to understand what the dog wants of it. If the dog fails in the minigame, the actions the human will carry out will be selected at random. The game will flow in a kind of real time, when its 6 PM the dog will have to return to home, to its owner. More minigames will be unlocked here that the dog can do to increase his skills. Each minigame takes up "2 hours" of time in the dogs world. The dog will need to sleep by 12 PM in order to wake up fresh and have all his stats at an optimum level, for every hour spent awake after 12 PM the stats for the next day will be temporarily down by 1. The minigames I mentioned will require skills, they won;t be "Casual crappy minigames"....like one minigame could be a 2D platformer where you need to exterminate mites that could be on the dog's fur! I haven't thought of a plot but thats the general gist of what I was thinking! |
nice! i'd like this game.

Simply. An RPG with 3 view points. A First Person view like Oblivion's for each every character in your party. A 3rd person view like Demon's Souls, for each character. And an over-head view like Baldur's Gate's, if you want to control each character. You control one of 3-6 Characters in your Party, depending on the difficulty of the playthrough. 6 Maximum for Casual. 5 Maximum for Normal. 4 Maximum for Hard. 3 Maximum for Insanity. 2 Maximum for an un-lockable yet to be named mode Huge game world with tons of places to visit. Not all big cities, and not all in need of aid. Quiet forests, huge Deserts, tranquil lakes, snowy tundras. World map like that in the original Baldur's Gate. But every area you can visit on the map is huge in comparison to the maps IN Baldur's Gate. Typical classic WRPG fantasy setting. Orcs, Dragons, Goblins, Ogres, Demons... Etc. You can rest at anytime you please, but you get more HP/MP back if you use a Tent. Tents are findable/buyable depending where you go. You are also less likely to be woken by enemies when using a Tent. Thousands of different weapons and armors available for whatever classes you choose to be/ recruit for your group. Thousands of spells for Clerics and Mages of all kinds. Full character customization. The game even features some RTS elements for when you get your castle/keep. You have to defend it twice from 2 huge armies. That's part of the story though so i wont go into that When you DO beat the game, you have the option to import your character. When you do this, you can continue playing the game after the final (story) bosses are defeated, being able to import your save file at any time. So if you find something new or gain a new level (You will) you can import it straight onto your next save game.
I probably missed some stuff but, yeah. That's pretty much the basics |
action RPG! love it.

i had that idea to? tell the otherside of the war, but that last half of the sentence never crossed my mind

As the game progresses many challenges are thrown in. One will be having to park a car with a standard transmission and your character doesn't know how to drive one so the challenge is to hit buttons precisely so you can get the car into first gear. Later, you have to drive after having a bad reaction to a medication (drunk driving) and the controls become unresponsive and slow to react. By the end of the game your character is broke so he really needs to park a bunch of cars as fast as possible to pay bills. The character will hit ramps and transfer is body weight to land in a single spot that is at first surrounded by no cars and eventually 2 cars. You'll also be tasked with sneaking up on other valets and stealing their fairs. Robbers will also be trying to thwart you so you'll have mini games where you open the door and knock them out or have to pull them out of a car they've already stolen. Sometimes, the car will break down and you'll have to push it into the spot. Flat tire? The faster you change the tire, the more you level up so you can change a tire more quickly. Ice roads, hurricane force winds, hail, and fog will also be included to add more challenge. Motion controls may be added to make it more realistic and will be a PSN or XBLA game. Many more scenarios can be easily incorporated. |
and any damage to the car would cause penalties. this would be bad for me, but the entrust is there for me. great idea.
