 A few million people sounds about right, but the problem is the install base, what good will a $300 price tag do sony in 2009 at the earliest if the Wii already has 3x the install base by then?  Sony's taken a gamble this generation, and the odds of it paying off for them have begun to slowly diminish, because "future proof" is only an idea, not reality.

Actually I sort of know the reasons but I just want to get you all's take on the chafing that Wii brings to some people.

Only thing I can think of is because those Sony / MS fanboys feel insulted by a machine which it's power is based on gameplay and fun and not on graphics. They're threatned because the WII doesn't have the same power as their precious PS3 / 360, but is selling 2-3 or even 4 times more. Therefore typical fanboys, calls the WII a "fad", because they can't stand a less powerfull machine is selling more then theirs.

If the WII wouldn't sell that much, you seriously wouldn't here those same people complaining, but pointing at Nintendo fans and by calling them losers because of their "fad" console. That's basicially the whole point... I guess.

How many times do you nintendo fanboys need to be told that the Wii does NOT have a monoply on FUN and that the 360 and the PS3 provide that to and that someof us have MORE fun with the 360 and PS3 than the Wii...All systems are based on FUN and nintendo does not have a monopoly on it and just because our system have alot of power doesn't mean they are not FUN. We don't think your system is FUN and don't like the direction it is bring the industry, Lord.

I don't mean to come across as angry..But everywhere I go I see Nintendo fanboys say..Our teh systems is teh bedders becoose it based on funz and yoos isn'ts!!!! Wii FTW! I get tired of hearing this untrue crap a million times!

Like I'm sick and tired of the constant bashing from people like you! So it's alright for you to bash on Nintendo fans, but when I just give an objective and clear statement of why I think people are complaining about the WII, then it's nonsense?!

Reading her post about 10 times brings me to the conclusion... she´s right.

 

And you prove her beeing right with making statements like "waaaaa" which are not very impressive.

 

Did you even notice there are no Nintendofans just saying the PS3 is crap or the 360 sucks? They just defend their console. This is not because they are the better humans but the Wii sells better so they don´t need to. But in fact you´re exactly doing what Wiigirl said: You bash Nintendo consoles and if someone gets annoyed of it you call him a basher or a "bleeder" or whatever. It´s just a console, calm down

WRONG! The 360 and PS3 are based on fun to, all consoles are. Ours just happens to have more power and room for advancement. I have yet to see one sony/ms fan insulted by the wii's lack of power. Strike 1 on her!

STRIKE TWO! Power isn't it all, the power annoys us, but it's the motion detection we don't like. Again it's not power.

STRKE THREE AND YOUR OUTTA HERE! We call it a fad because of the gimmick controller looks like it may be and again NOT because of the power. We don't like the MD and the power is secondary if not in 3rd place with some of us. She claims it because of power, which it is really not. And most of us would complain, or atleast take shots at it like Nintendo fanboys take shots at the other systems.  Losers? Riiiiiight.......I don't even need to bother with that crap, I have been all over the net and seen twice as much attacks on Sony/MS fans by nintendo fanboys as anybody else.

Forgot this crap...oops. I didn't bash Nintendo consoles, she bashed all Sony/MS fans and lied multiple times and cried and attacked when I called her on it....So I further proved it. But no attacks on Nintendo. I just stated a COLD HARD FACTS

1. Nintendo doesn't have the monopoly on fun - TRUE! Not an attack!

2. We don't find it fun - TRUE! Not an attack! A lot of people find the 360/PS3 more fun, not all but a nice number.

3. We don't like the direction Nintendo is taking industry - TRUE! Not an attack!  A lot of us don't..Not an attack just a statment of FACT!

4. All systems are based on fun, not just the Wii - TRUE! Not an attack! All console are based on this, just do it different ways.

Hmmm. 4 facts in one post! None of them attacks....But her post was one whole attack due to it's lies...which I proved...Hmmmm. Nope, she is wrong. DEAL!

PS360N64... Looks like youre proving the WiiGirls point. :) What WiiGirl said about fanboys, it was not targeted to you. You could say that every fanboy is the same. But PS brand has younger fanboys than other consoles. And they usually make the most noise. As you said, youre tired of fanboy crap. The same that youre outing. Think how it went last gen, few million PS fanboys screaming in every gaming forum. Now when theres not so much PS fanboys aroud compared to other fanboys, its much more easier for a Sony fanboy to see whats the situation. Lots of comments which dont base on facts. It does have a point that Wii is more fun than 360 and PS3 together. And thats why Wii sells so good. Just as Sony and M$ has said about their targeted group: Hardcore gamers =serious gaming. Nintendo has said its targeted group being everyone =fun and games. For HC gamers serious gaming is fun, for others its more fun when you dont need to be serious. You cant really deny that Wii wouldnt be more fun than its competitors. And one thing which seems to annoy PS3 fanboys is, that before PS3 they were PS2 fanboys (the console what everyone "must have") and now they are fans to console, which everybody doesnt need to have. So its like theyve being taken down in rank and they pay a lot more from a console, in which they are happy, than other fanboys, who are as happy with their own console as PS3 fanboys to theirs.

If you just spent $600 on a PS3 because you'd rather have a console with some horsepower... and then you find out that this puny little Wii with "last-gen" graphics and selling for half as much is kicking ass and taking names, while the PS3 has had a not-so-incredible launch... yeah, I can see why you'd be upset. When people spend that much money on something, some of them need to feel justified. Ever listen to someone go on and on and on about a nice car that they own, putting down other cars in the same class? Same thing.

Read my hammering of the other two.  No system has a monopoly on fun and there are millions who think the 360 and PS3 are more fun. You think the Wii is more fun, that doesn't make it a fact, just you view not shared by all. So far you guys are 0/3 and proving me right in saying that nintendo fanboys think there is system is the most fun period and anybody who disagrees is wrong! Keep em comin!

 Can I say the same thing?  I can count about a dozen games for the Wii this year that I want, but I can't count even a dozen between the 360 and PS3, so what does that make me and my 40-game PS2 collection?

People have different taste and people taste can change too? You might got tired of the games that come to the PS and want something new? That is a natural progress. Guess what I want new good games that is why I am not getting a Wii.
