Once sony starts advertising GT5 like Microsoft is doing Halo reach then it will start to gain preorders. Also I am planning on buying GT5 but did not preorder yet because i think its too early and i suppose there are many people like me. Is there a way to see preorders for for GT5 in Europe? Because after Gamescom I think many people in Europe will start reserving it.

There hasn't been any Reach ads yet.

Is kinect adventures the same for the kinect camera?

yes there are. On the discovery channel there are at least 2 reach ads every 30 minutes. (when i was watching cashcab)

That's just the teaser ad. Consider it first few drops of rain before a hurrican. MS said there's going to be an epic live action campaign so Halo Reach exposure has only just barely started. If you think a teaser ad is a lot then you better prepare yourself for MS marketing at it's best.

its actually a fairly long ad. 30-45 seconds im guessing

It's nothing but quick cuts and music. No story, character, dialog, etc. It may be 30 seconds, but there's very little to take away or get people pumped. It's just a beautiful teaser with a tragic theme. It catches your eye, but it leaves you with questions. Like I said, MS has a big live action campaign planed that nobody has seen anything of yet. The blitz is still yet to hit.

Of course Microsoft is going to campaign the hell out of Reach. Its their highest selling IP. Remember money to microsoft is like free crack to a drug-depraved crackwhore.

GT5 isn't doing bad, don't worry guys. Considering 1st week sales of GT4 in Americas (770k) GT5 will do fine if it reaches around 400k preorders. It will be much stronger in EMEAA and Japan, so I think it is still possible that it reaches 10 million units worldwide LTD.

By the way, where's Vanquish? Isn't anyone surprised? Ok there was no advertising, but I expected it to be in the Top 50 by now at least.

When GT3 was out, there were not that much PS2 systems on the market than PS3 systems are now. GT was never very popular in the states, so don't behave as you Americans are the world. GT5 will do best in Japan and formost in Europe, so it will make the 10 millions for sure.

your first post and already so much hate. gt5 will do best in europe, then in america then in japan. it will be lucky to reach 1 million their.

I read alot here, but never posted. My english isn't good enough for saying what I exactly think. But this time I had to write. The view here is very often way too American-centered. Look how big GT is in Europe. Some pre-order numbers from America have not much weight. Not enough to say that GT is doomed.

What I meant with best in Japan and foremost in Europe: Europe > Japan > America, but proportionally. 1 million in Japan is better than 2 million in America. See what I mean?

12.08.2010, prediction:

GT5 will sell ~10 million life time (after 20 weeks around 6 million, rest with legs).

i understand and i agree with you. people here had predictions that gt5 will sell 11-15 million those predictions are doomed. gt5 will do just fine, but it wont pass 10 million. people here have high expectations and thats why they say its doomed. you have good ideas, speak up more often, its better then hearing people like bhr.

GT games never had trouble crossing 1 million in Japan. GT5 may be an exception though due to the change in the market trends there. But I wouldn't be too surprised if it did manage 1 million in Japan.

Have you seen the preorder points? they aren't exactly very gt5 favorable....

Again, GT games have never been very frontloaded. They have legs. Besides, the addition of a Super GT license in GT5 can help a lot in Japan.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Awsome pre-orders for Reach.

Out of curiosity, Gran Turismo 5 has legs as some say.

What is your opinion on how those legs will hold up once id Software's Rage is released?

In case you have forgotten, Rage is a FPS/racing game that has won over the critics at 2010 E3, has a teen rating, will be released on PC, Wii, PS3 and 360, and is created from a developer who is widely acclaimed for popularizing the FPS genre.

rage isnt a racing game :p JUST BECAUSE THEIR ARE CARS DOESNT MEAN ITS A RACING GAME

saboteur has cars, and in some side missions you have to race, but its not a racing game. its a fps(i think its sand box). its not going to affect gt5.

its like saying lbp2 will steal sales from cod.
