I think people's expectations are too high for GT5 in the US. They're fine. Bear in mind also, marketing hasn't kicked in yet, and GT games aren't as front-loaded as Halo games are. It's of utmost importance though, that Sony strongly advertise the NASCAR aspect of the game, as I've said before. From what I know NASCAR fans are very brand loyal, and if this is true, word of mouth could help a lot here.

I don't think so. None of the NASCAR games have put good numbers, except for the Ps1 games. I think GT'll sell to the people that actually like the series but I'm not sure if this game'll put new fans.

It's just a theory. But I do think there's an untapped market for racers in the US. In the end, we'll see.

Edit: Also bear in mind I mentioned "word of mouth". We don't know just how different the NASCAR implementation in GT5 will be from the older NASCAR games, not to mention NASCAR vehicles can be driven on non-NASCAR race tracks. Furthermore, who knows how well this will be advertised in comparison to the older NASCAR games. Again, just my opinions and analysis, but just to give you a little more depth on why I proposed my theory.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

There's some interesting data here for sure.

Madden PS3 > Madden 360

Medal of Honor preorders ahead of Black Ops preorders on both systems (granted it is a couple weeks closer)

Fallout New Vegas doing really well, 360 version doubling the PS3 version though

After Madden releases, 5 of the top 6 will be shooters

GT5 preorders much lower than I would have expected, but still pretty strong.

When GT3 was out, there were not that much PS2 systems on the market than PS3 systems are now. GT was never very popular in the states, so don't behave as you Americans are the world. GT5 will do best in Japan and formost in Europe, so it will make the 10 millions for sure.

12.08.2010, prediction:

GT5 will sell ~10 million life time (after 20 weeks around 6 million, rest with legs).

Metroid: Other M looks healthy for Metroid, and Zelda doing well considering the release.

With Halo Reach Preorders aren't even funny

And wow how GT5 is really kilLign I must say

GT games never had trouble crossing 1 million in Japan. GT5 may be an exception though due to the change in the market trends there. But I wouldn't be too surprised if it did manage 1 million in Japan.

Once sony starts advertising GT5 like Microsoft is doing Halo reach then it will start to gain preorders. Also I am planning on buying GT5 but did not preorder yet because i think its too early and i suppose there are many people like me. Is there a way to see preorders for for GT5 in Europe? Because after Gamescom I think many people in Europe will start reserving it.

There hasn't been any Reach ads yet.

Is kinect adventures the same for the kinect camera?

live under a rock much???

well, I don't know where you live but here in the U.S. MS has been advertising Halo Reach since late july. seen the commercial about 10-13 times myself

There has been plenty of Reach ads :S you don't watch tv much or something?

I watch a lot of TV and haven't seen any Reach ads in the US. The only ones I've seen were for the beta earlier in the year. So, is the ad live action or is it just game play?

look at Halo reach!!!, and omg gt5 is killing it, looks like bhr 3 is right it is going to outsell halo reach opeing week i mean come on that is insane numbers
