Arkham... City? The Batman fan in me is not pleased. Not pleased one bit...

But the fact that Two-Face is in it, well, that makes me forget any and all trespasses done by the name. Couldn't care less about Talia Al Ghul though, the Al Ghuls always felt like Justice League villains to me, and never really part of the "Gotham Universe" (plus the Lazarus pit is just too much of a deus ex machina to me. Need a problem solved? Here's the Lazurus Pit!)

...

Anywho... that is a great great cover from Game Informer. I'll probably have to buy it at GameStop once I preorder Sonic Colors (and get that amazing Sonic hat!).

I'd think they named it such to illustrate what will be happening to Gotham...

Gotham will be turned into an Arkham city.

I would just like to say that "Arkham City" is a very stupid name which will not keep me from buying the game.

What would you name it? I mean it's set in Arkham city after all..

I'd have called it "Mad City" or "Gotham Burning" or something.  Arkham was just a place in Gotham City named after the guy that built it.  It's like calling a city that has a Wal-Mart something like "Wal-City".  I'm sure they have their reasons, though.  The guys responsible for the last game had close ties to the makers of the comic.  Maybe everything will fall into place.

I think it will be more along the lines of something like this -

All the inmates from Arkham have escaped, and a huge number of Batman's enemies already in the city, have also taken over. Penguin, for instance. Two-Face. Etc.

Gotham has been put on lockdown, and basicly just shut down and left with all the criminals/villains inside. Batman goes in to restore order, and get Gotham back!

Edit: I should expand on that, as I got carried away with the Story, ratrher than why it's called Arkham City

What i mean is, they locked it down... And it gets the nickname of "Arkham City" due to it being like all the inmates/criminals/everything, all locked into the City. Like it was just one huge Arkham Asylum.

very cool, will get this on day 1 for sure. liked the original alot :)

Reminds me of the "No Man's Land" storyline from the late 90's.  But since that storyline was awesome, with a side of awesome, and topped with a bottle of awesome sauce with a glass of ice cold awesome to wash it down, then I think that a game like that would be awe---, err, nice.

Hahaha yeah you're right. Now that i've rethought it. Maybe they named it arkham city because a high amount of crimnals got loose?  either way i agree.

In fact, I will say this:

Just like with Portal 2, anyway who is not excited for Arkham City is my enemy.

I guess we are enemies... I didn't care for batman AA

I found it insulting that the game is actually telling me to "push Y " to counter. I come from the whole twitch based aspect of fighting games...Streets of Rage, Final Fight etc..and these things are not very twitch based. It feels more like playing guitar hero... push yellow button now!

Otherwise everything else was meh as well. Some nice boss fights, but for every cool boss fight there was 2 lame ones.

But I am clearly in minority as everyone is going gaga for Batman.

Then yes, we are enemies.

Also they take away visual cues for countering when you turn up the difficulty.

See I didn't know that... Its fine though, I don't think that alone was the reason I disliked it. I played it on PC too, which had amazing 3D vision effect. Batmans cape in your face looks pretty badass. :)

It did look and sound great but I just didn't think it was fun to play.

city??? wtf/???  u gots to be kidding me! ASHES OF GOTHAM WAS WAYYYYYYY better.  Odd name, not liken it
