Batman: Arkham City Coming 2011 Warner Bros. names new Batman.

Warner Bros. today confirmed the title and release window for the next Batman videogame developed by Rocksteady. It's called Batman: Arkham City and it's coming next fall to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Batman: Arkham City builds upon the intense, atmospheric foundation of Batman: Arkham Asylum, sending players soaring into Arkham City, the new maximum security "home" for all of Gotham City's thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds.

Not much else was revealed. WB says the game will feature a brand-new story, include a new cast of classic characters and villains, and new enhanced gameplay features.

They should have called it Arkham Island like in Batman: Gotham Knight.

*edit*  Hmmm.....I guess gamers DO complain about everything!

still haven't played the first one tbh, Will be buying it for pc when I have  a gap in my schedule.

I would just like to say that "Arkham City" is a very stupid name which will not keep me from buying the game.

Amazing! I'm so excited for this!

Around the Network

GOTY contender for sure

In fact, I will say this:

Just like with Portal 2, anyway who is not excited for Arkham City is my enemy.

I just hope and pray that it doesn't turn into a game like the Sabotuer or Grand Theft Auto or something.  What made Batman AA work so well was how tight the narrative was and how well made the game was.  I don't know if that sort of game/atmosphere can be replicated as an open world game.  The open world genre just has an inherent difficulty when it comes to making a tight narrative.

Awesomeeeeeeeeeeeee. Can't wait!

Releasing it at that time of year shows that they aren't rushing it, which is always good.

Can't wait to see some gameplay from it! Maybe Gamescom?!

I prefered some of the rumoured names like Ashes of Gotham
