ew. If VGC ever does this I will leave.

Really? :o

Well damn, I'm even more glad I argued for the number scale over the letter scale way back, else we wouldn't have you!

@Carl - Despite what they say, I expect there will be more 10s. Although they already devalued their 10 score by giving them to GTAIV and MGS4 imo.

MGS4 i can, and still do understand. No faults with the game IMO, for the genre (and series) it's in.

GTA4 though, IMO doesn't deserve it at all. Total downgrade from San Andreas IMO.

I totally agree!

EDIT: Why isn't it crossing out the word MGS4 that Machina accidently put in his statement?!?!?!

_____

Anyway I disagree on MGS4 Machina, its the best game ever and deserves 11/10

I agree on GTA4, deserves no more than a 7.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Well at leats it's not a pretense of a fraction system. Seriously. 9.9? that's just 99 on a percent scale. So instead of a 1-100 rating it' s a 1-20 system. That's about all it means. Decimal scales are really stupid for reviewing.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Could be worse. They could switch to the movie review system of 4 stars!

I think there should be no scores, that way people would actually read the reviews instead of glancing at the score and that be it.

Scores do not really tend to match up with what it contained in the actual "review".

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

I'm glad they are going to this scale.  The tenth of a point scale is only good for fanboy fodder.  I actually prefer the five star method of rating games.  Make 0 stars a worthless game and have 5 stars be a must play.  Then you have everything else in between.  Let the game of the year awards determine what the best games are each year.  It would be nice to not have to read fanboys bickering about how game X should have been a 9.5, not a 9.3.

Well at least their cat vs Godzilla compensation was pointless and irrelevant.

This thread reveals darths true thoughts about MGS4.

Think i might remove him from my friends list.

dont worry folks Ill still give be giving random decimal numbers after my reviews...

8.7's for all!

I think it makes sense. It's essentially a 20 point system rather than a 100. There's no sense in quibbling over the difference between a 9 and an 8.9 (or an 8.8 as was once so famous), but a 9 and an 8.5 represents something meaningful.

I agree.
