Because everytime NPD shows smaller sales for PS3, VGC lower its own figures quite immediately, on the contrary when NDP shows higher figures, we hardly get any adjustement.

And everytime MS spouts out numbers in interviews no matter how bullshitty they are (like the 20 milion XBL accounts they celebrated in may 2009... and then reached again on January 2010, this time for real apparently) VGC seems to drink their every words. On the other hand Sony's figures are always taken with a grain of salt and we always get the same old tune  quarter after quarter :  "they probably overshiped, let's wait for next quarter results". So according to VGC, Sony's  been now overshipping for three quaters in a row, and with a three months shortage in the US nonetheless.

Yes, some huge MS fan knows more than SONY about how much SONY'S products are selling and how much SONY should be shipping.

I agree, it's really kinda pathetic too. Sony released there numbers, it is what it is and it doesn't matter if some guy named "Reach" doesn't believe them.

360 is kicking ass right now with the new design and no PS3 fan change that. But PS3 is still doing good and improving and no 360 fan can change that either...

Sony can't just ship and ship and ship if no-one is buying, because the retailers will tell them to piss off.

The 'real' gap is now less than 3m consoles - not bad.
