Forums - Sony - PS3 gets exclusive Tales title! Three new Tales games revealed

Vesperia is funded by M$, so they may have a contract with M$ to not bring it over to US, but Graces should be another story.

I think they only brought Vesperia to the west, because the 360 is a western console. So I'm pretty sure MS had to do something with the Western release, but they surely had absolutely nothing to do with the PS3 version.

Namco just doesn't want to localize them.

late port :P

Ugh guess we aren't going to see many Tales games localized anymore.  Curses.  Was hoping to get ToG on Wii eventually but guess not.  Doubt these will be localized either (but I wanted it on the Wii haha).  Oh well.

Hey, Bamco, have you guys stopped to think about why the Tales team is losing money? I think this is a good example. People don't want to buy Tales games, because they're getting remade in the same gen on another system. And what system should a Tales fan buy? In Japan, there are Tales games on EVERY gaming console on the market! A fan isn't going to be able to afford all 5 systems! You know that old saying, "Jack of all trades, master of none."? Pick a system, and try to get a fanbase there. You're too late for this gen, but think for the next gen... if you've not already disbanded the team from losses by then...

That aside, yeah, they chose a poor time to release Wii Graces in Japan. Personally, I'm going to be really angry if for some reason the PS3 version gets brought over, but not the Wii version. My money's on neither coming, though... Bamco has fallen pretty hard into the "any non-FF RPG doesn't sell in the west" category.

You do know that the melt downs are because of the Tales of games that have not been localized. This has been the same sentiment over at Neogaf. Western "Tales of" fans have been hoping to play the games that have been released in Japan on the DS, PSP, Wii and PS3. For some reason Namco does not feel the need to localize the games for Western gamers. I also do not think that Namco has localized Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World for Europe and Australia. VGChartz has that game selling over 400,000 units in Japan and North America.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

I'm pretty sure someone would take on your bet easily. I want it to come to the west in any form, so I rather not jinx, but I highly doubt it will.

I knew I should have bet against ps3 fans for tales of vesperia not getting localized.

lol Yeah I do get that and I also get the feeling that some seem to be a lil angry abour the ex-exclsuive not being so anymore......let's just say it's a hunch..eitherway no matter the reason it still is kinda funny

anywho I'm gonna be a bit hopeful here and hope they do localize it with the new trend of company's localizing games for the west 'fingers crossed'

@Acevil: yeah I know what you mean  and lol to have a proepr bet there should eb a tiem limit and that I have no clue about :S let's just say this is wishful thinking on my part

When they make a game like this "exclusive" to the 360, then port to PS3...that's understandable. Just look at what even a year old port of ToV sold on PS3 compared to 360 version.

This however...doesn't make sense. Now, I'm no expert on Japanese culture, but they seem to buy anything that's Japanese, no matter the platform (we have all our debate over how the Wii isn't 'hardcore' but MH3 sold a million in Japan alone, for example). In the 360 case...basically no one has a 360, so even though they "buy the product no matter the platform", it doesn't matter as much if not that many own the platform.

The Wii? Everyone and their momma has a Wii there, and Tales of Graces STILL only sold 220K there. Substantial number (not trying to ridicule it's performance with 'only'), but what makes them think better sales will be achieved with a PS3 version?
