I was looking at the sales of Uncharted 1 & 2 and noticed that Uncharted 2 increased the sales of Uncharted by a fairly large amount. Does anyone have any other occurrences of this.

That happens all the time to titles that aren't yearly iterations. This is extremely common in PC games.
The OP mentioned the first and only game that came to my mind as soon as I read the thread title
I'm sure there must be others though.
Edit: Wait read the question wrong, thought you meant games that increased sales over their competitors...can't think of many
Happened for New Super Mario Bros when NSMB Wii was launched.

Above: still the best game of the year.
When Gears of War 2 came out it seemed like the first Gears sold even more, especially with the refresh (Platnium Hits version). If Blizzard re-releases Starcraft 1 I can see it selling again with the release of SC2.
It's just that simple.
I noticed that the original Super Mario Galaxy started climbing up the charts a few weeks before the sequel was released.
I would assume because of the way Mass Effect 2 works with Mass Effect 1, if there was a re-release in america it would have jumped significantly... ? Just guessing.
