ROFL. Reach not only eats Killzone in terms of features and content, but sheer playable scale to.

I predict Reach will be GOTY on more than 80% of the review sites.

Killzone 3 better than Reach. Oh wait England won the world cup.

Absolutely impossible. No one game will get across more than 20% of sites, there are far too many different value metrics that will apply to the GotY contenders this year.

Oh come on guys, I was splitting hairs.

Of course I was exagerating, on purpose.

My point is, Killzone has never been a Halo both in game and sales. KZ2 didnt change that. All of a sudden people think theres an answer to Bungies masterpiece? It's ludicrous.

Yes the game may be good. But not Halo. Reach looks phenominal. I know that styles can vary, but even so Halo is a game like no other. KZ is similar to alot of FPS's. And always will be.

Halo cant be touched on what it achieves.

The same way GT pwns Forza?

C'mon Selnor, lets play it fair. You can have one but not the other!

You are right. Fair play bro, your right.

Just so you know though, I never said Forza was a GT killer or matched it etc.

I referred to physics system and review scores. No KZ game has ever gotten a higher score than any Halo game. But since Forza came on the scene with Forza 1 ( it's direct competitor was GT4 they released same year ) Forza has outperformed GT reviews. Forza 1 beat GT4 review scores. And FM2 and 3 have had no direct competition.

So it's only sales that GT can be reffered to as the winner.

Whereas Halo is on every front a winner. It's a proven high scoring heavily played franchise that has increased it's sales with each consecutive game release ( not including expansion and spin off ). KZ started very average. Has been rounded off with a respectable 90 meta ( 89 GR ) and sold pretty well. But to say it's current 14,000 players online vs 223,000 for Halo right now is not a tell tale sign when Halo 3 is 2 years older is pretty misforgiving.

KZ misses the things that people come back to Halo for time and time again.

EDIT-

KZ2 last 24 hours   =    Had 17,162 players who logged in.

Halo 3 last 24 hours     =    Had 630, 485 players who logged in.

Killzone 2 has alot less players who log in over an entire month right now than in 24 hours of Halo 3.

KZ2 last 1 month  =     Had 176, 009 players who logged in.

This tells you everything. If it doesnt then something is not right.

Sorry I thought you said Halo 3 was 2 years old for a second!

In terms of sales what do you see K3 doing?

Around 2-2.5 million lifetime. I dont think many of the 2.34 million people that bought KZ2 are that interested. Considering only 100k log on a month to play when it's completely free to do so.

MW2 is where the PS3 players are. Whereas Halo is radically different from those types of shooters, which is why 3 years later it still outperforms MW2 on Live from occasion to occasion.

I don't want to get into details, but you can see the similarities between the two sets:

- GT and Halo have much larger fanbases, are more popular, and sell more. This means they have a lot of hardcore fans that say the games define their genre.

- KZ and Forza are less popular, try to rival their competitors, and have a smaller group of hardcore fans that play the games.

Now I know personal preference is everything, so it's perfectly fine to like GT more than Forza and Halo more than KZ etc, but it just jumped out to me that you were basically saying that you think Halo is miles ahead of KZ in terms of content, but thenn I could say GT is miles ahead in terms of content as well.

Anyway, nuff said. And I know you consider it a disadvantage but id much rather have 17,000 people playing my online shooter each day that 600,000:

- Know players better

- You feel a more important part of the game

- Only dedicated players are there, no chaff.

I know theres arguments for the other side, but just saying a smaller player count isnt always bad.

To be honest if any of those games mentioned gets GOTY it speaks volumes for how bad a year its been.  Although I have not played Alan Wake to be fair, so exclude that from the list.

This! Any year where a bunch of mediocre sequels can be considered GOTY is not a good year. Of course any resonible person already knows that SC2 is getting the GOTY.

Medicore sequels? I wouldn't call ME 2, GoW 3, SMG 2 and SC 2 (as you mentioned) mediocre.

They all are, with the possible exception of SC2. The fact that they are considered the best of the year show how far standards have fallen. Not saying that any of them are bad games, but they certaintly aren't up to GOTY snuff.

ME 2 and SMG 2 are the highest rated games in the genre on Metacritc "Mediocre". This year has already been better than whole 2009 and is the best gaming year since 2007 "Mediocre games" i'm sorry, but its just your taste that is bad.
