Forums - Nintendo - Aonuma: Zelda timeline exists, Skyward Sword takes place before OoT

That was one part of that video that made no damn sense at all. How could that only be a one-generation gap, where virtual clones of both Link and Zelda emerge, and they've completely rebuilt Hyrule town and castle, all in the span of maybe 30 years? Generations span between that, at least.

I think he meant that they are from the same bloodline (no more than 3 generation old), rather than a direct desendant. Wich was an obvious mistake on his part...

Sweet Material for the thread:

Why does everyone ignores the officcial thread

And I don't know..... I mean... maybe they're linked or something, but I refuse to believe they're totally connected..... or maybe............  this takes place right betwwen the 10 years link travels in time

So you want a speculation topic in the official SS thread, is that it?

If I said that a certain title was ‘the first Zelda game’, then that means that we cant ever make a title that takes place before that!

I am doubtful that Aonuma would be this uncomromisingly dogmatic as to the chronology of his own series. Asuming this is not some elaborate scam, I find it likely that something was lost in translation.

Other than that, this is nothing new. We have seen the effects of this 'secret document' for quite some time now, and it is not very surprising that Fujibayashi would take an inkling to it considering the interest he has shown in these matters in the past.

Now, the real object of interest here is the rest of the interview! *goes reading*

Baah who cares? just give me more of OoT type epicness and I'm happy not Twilight Princess I hope, that game dissapointed me with so little Zelda and Ganon in it.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

O_o niceeee!!! Im still waiting for the game that's in between twilight and WW.

Fairly certain those ended up in separate timelines, if you subscribe to that theory (and part of me finds the whole debate rather pointless, but i just can't help myself). Twilight Princess would be the successor to the Adult ending of OoT, where Ganondorf was sealed, and Wind Waker was set well after the child ending, where Ganondorf was not and Link went away anyway (to Termina), thus leading to downfall. Plus in the child timeline the legend of the hero would've been just that, and not something that actually happened.

Is this the one you are talking about?  It's my personal favorite and I tend to follow it.  Of course, since the new game takes place before OoT then this timelime can still be held true.  It would take place before the split.  But who knows.

This was always my favorite time line.

Given that Skyward Sword happens before Ocarina of Time, this means that it even happened before The great Hylian War, so this may equal to no Ganondorf appearence!

Unless in his birth or the coming of the Evil Thieves, if we get the chance to see him.

Final boss: Baby Ganondorf! :D

But I don't want to end a game sticking a sword through a baby's face...

I gave up on the timeline theory a long long time ago

It's going to be about a story about the girl who sacrifice herself to become what we know called The Master Sword.

Oops, I hope I didn't spoil it too much.

I think the Zelda Timeline is the largest developer organized mass-troll ever made.
