This is true. Because those things have artistic merit. Wii shovelware and Miley Cyrus do not. It shouldn't be that hard to grasp.

Bah hes not even trying now. Time to play a game I guess. Thanks for the entertainment

Trying what? To convince Wii fans that there is such a thing as art and that it cannot be measured by its performance in the marketplace?
I've long since given up trying to do that. I'm just trying to understand if this is a mindset that you practice in your lives entire, or if you otherwise understand that there is a difference between good and bad art and simply chose to suspend this understanding when it comes to video games.

Rather, you classify things as art way too often. I've seen maybe a handful of games that I would ever classify as art in the last two gens. I don't even classify most music, movies, or even pictures as 'art'. Art is a particular expression of a given medium. Not all things we can see are art, lots of paintings are art, mainly because that is a specialized profession where people who paint are expressly trying to create art. Much like sculptures. But I resoundly reject the notion that most imagery is art or games for that matter. Most games, even from the so called golden age durring the atari/NES/SNES era were not art.
Most of the music and movies that I enjoy I would classify as art. I would say the same for games. A game needn't be a masterpiece in order to be a work of art, but it needs to have a bit more to it than Wii Sports.
Just out of interest, which card games are the most artistic in your opinion?
Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

You probably think a game like Heavy Rain has artistic merit when in fact it could be considered a game with cheesy dialogue

Coming in a topic calling stuff shovelware and everything else is not you trying to understand anything. Need to stop pretending like you are. I still stand by that I got some entertainment off reading your post. It was some good laughs and filled with many of the trolling Nintendo sayings. Kinda went of course at the end though.
Heres my opinion on all things movie/game/music/pictures/etc
I like something or I do not like something thats pretty much it. I could give a dam if somone wants to call it art or not. People with your attiude remind me of people back in in elementary school. OMG you like this but you dont like that? Your stupid! HAHAHAHHA! Hate to break it to you, but most people like what they like in the real world. Hell, even my own GF, friends, family, we all like different stuff that the other dont.Guess they all must be dumb if I use your logic.
